We went with a big group of guys (13 lads on a stag do) and we had an awesome stay. The rooms were clean and tidy, until we got into them I suppose, and the location was right near the busy areas of town. I'd say the best thing about this hostel is the staff, they were so helpful (arranging... More

Although this hostel is near the royal palace it s not a hostel that i recommend. Compare to other hostels you can find better places with better choices. The staff is not cool. The only maybe good thing is that you can meet new people every day .

The staff here are really nice - welcoming, helpful and pleasant. Even the housekeeping were really good. The rooms have a/c but not sure how it is controlled, the room was a little hot over night & in the morning. The beds are ok to sleep on, if you're a fussy bed-person, be aware that you can feel the metal... More

Hostel meeting point was a really cool place to stay. The staff is very friendly and even pointed out the places to see in Madrid. Their dorms were clean. They had provided us bedsheet and pillow covers too. The washrooms are clean. They have a library along the hallway. The kitchen is huge and cooking is not a problem as... More

The hostel is very nice and well located ! Some points could be better about the wireless downstairs and in the kitchen. The staff is very nice as well, events and paella party were perfect ! Took time sometimes to get someone to open the door during the night.

Very crowded Hostel, very crowded room. You'll need an inside map if you're staying for 1 night because it's big and like a maze. There is a kitchen but it closes during the night, in a city like Madrid that's reaaaaally bad. Everything is Paid for, no privileges, I mean at all. Yet what compensated for all of this was... Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
