The hotel is good location to two metro stations 5mn walk. Also 10mn walk to Puerto del sol. The room and shower is clean and the room has a good air from a good size window. For the price value of 30-40$ you can not get better. I only slept there and been gone all day and the shower water...

The host the host the host! Friendly, welcoming, helpful and caring. It was like staying at a good friend's house! The room was very clean and the hostel was a 4 minute walk from a metro station. This is a good value hostel in a good central location in Madrid. Whilst the rooms and facilities are basic, the owner / manager is very friendly, and the rooms are clean and well looked after. There are lots of shops and restaurants near by (a popular shopping street in Madrid) and good location for walking just about any where...

Recently stayed at Hostal Benamar for 2 nights. Stayed in a Private room with ensuite. Room was large, clean and had its own balcony. Close location to Gran Via only 5 mins away and major sights. Only negative is the very thin walls can hear just about everything. Great value for what you get!

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
