It was great to stop off at these self-contained apartments halfway through our interrailing trip around Spain. We had the time and space to do some laundry, and saved a fortune on buying breakfast and packed lunch ingredients from the supermarket downstairs. Very easy to get to from one of the metro exits (look for the ones marked with 'Juan...

Had everything we wanted for 45 euros per night: Quiet location in Salamanca not too far from the city center (45 to 60 minutes walking time); heated room with kitchenette; grocery store next door; Diego de Leon metro station 30 yards away at the intersection of Conde de Penalver; and easy to transfer to and from the airport on the...

I spend a month in Madrid each summer and this place is great for my purpose. The location can't be beat; Salamanca barrio has everything! Three metro lines stop at the door. Grocery store is in the building. Great cafe/bar just in front. The lobby attendants are always helpful, even if they don't smile much. Wifi is spotty, as in...

You won't find a beautiful view of Madrid or a relaxing terrace on which to sip your chilled Sangria but what you will find is a compact, clean and comfortable apartment with everything you need for a short, discover-Madrid type holiday. Our apartment was very clean on arrival and was cleaned twice during our one week stay (beds made, towels...

The good: - great location - metro is a few steps away, in the middle of the city - very very clean - good space with a kitchenette, sitting area, dining area, bedroom - price - staff is ok but beware, they don't speak english The bad: - the beds are FAR too small. I am 6'3 and i had...

What a fantastic find!!! This is a 1 minute walk to a metro with three lines. The studio apt was sooo clean and had the cutest kitchenette which made breakfasts a delight. THe grocery store is right next door. It is a three minute walk to the famous Chocloteria Valor for churros and chocolate. Gino on the fornt desk made...

Excellent location, very reasonable prices, nice apartments. If you are looking for better, take out your credit card and pay the big bucks - otherwise this is a great option. I've stayed here on three separate visits to Madrid and will do so again if I'm back for a fourth.

We stayed in an apartment rather than a studio, and I recommend it if you need quiet and a good night's sleep. The passages are all wide and carpeted so we didn't hear much from other occupants; the bedroom has blackout curtains; there is no noise from air conditioning; the doors are good quality; and the mattresses were very firm...

I was there for a planned 3 month business period. I decided not to stay. Good points: the apartments are located in front of the metro (3 different lines); there is a small supermarket right in the building. Apartments are clean. But: noise isolation is not good towards the street and other apartments; apartments are dark because of small windows...

These apartments are in a perfect central location of the Salamanca district, friendly 24 hour reception, clean twin rooms, we heard no noise as mentioned in other reviews.overall is way better than expected for 3* apartments. The pool photo isn't great so we were pleasantly surprised to find a large pool, spotlessly maintained with loads of terrace space and loungers open...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

“I had an exterior room during one visit and an interior room overlooking an internal patio area on my most recent visit. Didn't really notice any great difference besides the view, naturally nicer if you get an exterior room as it overlooks the main street which is more attractive than the patio view.”
