This hotel gave me 5 star service through American Express travel. We received an early check out thanks to Jorge M! This was great after a long flight to receive a warm greeting and early check in. Laura & Jorge S in concierge always provided great recommendations and reservations. The entire staff from housekeeping, restaurant staff, concierge provided a superb experience. Received nice warm welcome package with local Madrid wine and fruits. Great views from our hotel room. Great area and very walkable to restaurants, bars and beautiful area in Madrid. Hotel's Favorite
As always, we stay at the Fenix Gran Melia and this time, we met Angeles, the kindest person, who is ready to help with a smile and great sense of humor. The service team is so carefully assembled that despite our multiple stays at the Fenix, we always find someone that makes our visit even more enjoyable. Again, the room is very comfortable, and the breakfast, delicious. We visited Madrid in September, but TripAdvisor doesn't let me post my review of the same place until after three months.

This is a lovely hotel, with atmosphere and excellent, friendly staff in a great location. The rooms are well furnished and quiet. Strongly recommended. My second stay, and this is now my default hotel in Madrid.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Our bags never arrived and still have not after 5 days with American Airlines but the staff was so kind, and so helpful and willing to help us contact airlines. The room was a suite and very accommodating for us. The red floor lounge was wonderful too. The Location is great. We appreciate your help and all you did for us during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay tremendously , the family room is a good size quiet ,with all the elements of luxury ! The staff at the front desk were welcoming and extremely attentive , breakfast was delicious and as for the location of the hotel , second to none , close enough to walk to museums and other attractions , plus the dining scene at Salamanca is one of the best culinary experiences ever ! I have been to this hotel many times and will always make this my first choice. I feel comfortable here like it is a home away from home. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is fantastic and if you book the red level you have the top floor available for some afternoon/evening glass of wine or beer as well as tapas. You can also smoke a cigar on the outside terrace. The lobby is graceful and makes for an elegant entrance. I look forward to returning once again.

My wife and I booked this hotel through Costco travel and had no idea what to expect. The hotel is very conveniently located and within walking distance (1 mile or a little further) to unbelievable museums and many attractions. A small casino is two tenths of a mile a way if you enjoy that as well. Mostly the hotel is a unique property with very nice architectural details and a comfortable room. Many people talk about “small European rooms” but this is perfectly sized for a couple with a nice size bathroom with a terrific shower and a comfortable bed with a writing desk and large TV. Great Wi-Fi as well. Two huge things stood out. First, the service is impeccable. Friendly and attentive bilingual front desk people always at least 3-4 of them are at the ready to assist. Second, the food in the hotel is unbelievably delicious. We ordered breakfast for one (I wasn’t ready to eat yet) and the amount of food that came was enough to feed at least two people. Eggs, bacon, sausage, four croissants, two yogurts, six pieces of toast, minced tomatoes, a pot of coffee were all delivered for 35 euro. In the US a breakfast like this at a hotel would have been mediocre at best and half the amount of food. Every single thing was delicious! I would equate this hotel to a very upscale US hotel and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to call home while in Madrid.…
