Average little hotel, that has a very cramped lobby, especially at busy periods during day. Rooms are decent, clean and quite, with full cable service. Best part of hotel and why i would stay here again is the prime location. Hotel is right on pedestrian shopping street, 3 blocks from metro station (which connects to airport), which is also the... It is centrally located, comfortable and beautiful (above expectations),lots of cafe and shops around. Within walking distance to Prado museum and Reina Sofia. Free wifi, and welcome Cava bottle. Room with terrace (6 FL) is absolutely amazing, highly recommended.

Very happy with the service I got at this hotel. The staff were so helpful and the rooms were quite nice. The rooms on the top floor are lovely and the balcony was perfect on the warm nights. (I stayed here at the beginning and end of my travels.) It is close to the centre of town but it was... More

This is an excellent hotel with all comfort you may wish for. Service was impeccable; I want to highlight the excellent concierge service which helped us with recommendations, reservations, tips, maps and anything we needed during our four day stay. The location on Arenal street is very central, with most touristic places walking distance including the Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real,... More

It is centrally located, and near the market, and lots of cafe and shops around. very close to the subway station. it is within walking distance to Prado museum, too. (nice churros cafe is nearby). There is a safe, mini bar, and very clean throughout. So we enjoyed our stay very much. free wifi, and welcome drink.

There is noting to complain about with this hotel. Rooms are ok, bathroom is very nice and the location is near perfect. This place is situated in the middle of the shopping area. This means everything is near!! Don't let the mirror filled reception fool you, the rest of the hotel is quite nice.

The hotel is located right in the centre of madrid. First I was quite concerned that it might be too noisey since the hotel is located in a very busy pedestrian area which is also quite busy at night. But they have excellent noise reducint windows and you can choose rooms facing the backyard. The staff was really friendly and... More

The staffs are so kind and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. I wanted Germany channel in TV, but I did not ask for this ( not too much important ). Window at the room was small, not to street, but it is ok for me. ( They chose this room for me because I asked for a quite... More

up to date and stylish hotel with superb location about 200m from Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol as well as maybe 400 from Teatro Real and a few more from Royal Palace. We had a roof terrace that was just icing on the location cake. Great,

The hotel is beautiful and near most attractions, Puerto de Sol and Plaza Mayor. Well decorated, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good and included free bubbling wine. Price is lower than most, definitely a place to visit again

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
