Stayed 5 nights at this lovely property. The location is excellent as a 2 min walk from Plaza de Espana which made easy access to and from the airport or train stations. Alvera and Jose which worked the front desk were outstanding and deserve recognition. I was made to feel special. Alvera made sure I had a suitable room as the first room I was assigned had an issue with the A/C. My room faced Gran Via but yet was very quiet with double paned windows. Old furnishings but clean and well appointed. Bed was comfy with good linens. Bathroom was spacious with a tub/shower combo, toilet and bidet. Shampoo and bath gel along with hand sanitizer was provided. The little kitchenette was great to have. There was one english channel CNN to catch up with the news. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The Espahotel near plaza de Espana on the Central Road of Gran Via offers a great location to discover Madrid. The rooms are big and good and ours had a kitchen. A taxi to the airport is easily arranged. The Gran Via is quite crowed but at night the hotel rooms are quiet. The prices are pretty valuable...

Praise only for this hotel - located on the busy Gran Vía, but quiet, due to good windows, recently changed. The view of the Royal Palace from our room, 710, was beautiful. Super clean, the ladies work so hard at cleaning the room every single day! Breakfast was varied enough, no complaints at all there. You get delicious omelette, ham and sausages + cheese and salami, etc., amazing fresh pastries, juices, yoghurt, cereal and fruit… coffee is great too. And the ladies who are there from 7 to 11 (officially), are simply wonderful. All the staff are just lovely and incredibly helpful. Yes, I speak the language and it makes a difference, everyone should make the effort to do so when travelling. I think that, for all the great things that it offers, this hotel is excellent value for money and the reviews should be even better, as it deserves it. ¡Gracias por todo y hasta muy pronto, espero!

Right on Gran Via close to Plaza de España yet we were not disturbed by noise at all. The hotel is comfortable, friendly and functional. The rooms and fixtures are a little dated but price is good. Buffet breakfast is reasonably priced and perfectly adequate.

Hotel had a very good offer via booking.com but probably someone realised it was too cheap, so rather than honor the reservation they made up a story that 2 given cards did not work. (all via booking msg not responding to direct email). Very poorly handled even if someone made a pricing mistake, its not customer's fault.

The location is really great, right on the main business. The rooms are nice There is a nice kitchen with microwave and stove, no tea pot. There are stairs without elevator, until you get the elevator its like 10-15 stairs if i recall. In our room the water went from warm to cold in the shower, and i told the guy in the lobby but nothing was fixed.

We visited this hotel at the end of November on a trip to see the Christmas lights and do some shopping. This hotel is perfectly located towards the bottom of the Gran Via and ideal for visiting many places of interest and shopping. An old building, it is narrow and on many floors all accessed by lifts. I noticed on several reviews the comments on how many stairs there were to reception which is on the first floor.....do not be put off by this, there is a dedicated lift from the entrance which only serves the first floor and reception. The dining room and bar, also on the first floor, is quite small but the breakfast they serve is wonderful. Buffet style, with lots of choice and regularly topped up. From my personal experience the staff in both reception and the dining room are friendly and helpful and for those who need, also speak English. Although some of the fittings were a bit "tired" the rooms were well appointed, clean and warm with a mini kitchen, large bathroom, telephone, tv and large comfortable bed. There was a constant supply of hot water. In reception there is a large variety of leaflets and maps to help find your way around. Overall a very pleasant, conveniently situated, reasonably priced hotel where I would certainly stay again and would recommend..

Bedroom: Ok, big and comfortable. Heat working perfectly. Bathroom: the cleaning wasnt great, and the shower didnt work properly (it swifted by itself from hot to cold water) Breakfast: poorly clean, not enough choices, it wasnt very tasteful. I strongly do not recommend to include breakfast in your stay. Location: ok, close to subway and plaza del callao. Walking distance to puerta del sol and plaza mayor.

I was here with my parents during our visiting to Madrid. The staff, the rooms and location were great. It is very close of the main Madrid attractions and the price was good. We recommend this place. I add some pictures about our room and the view we had through the windows.

The hotel is well located, only that ! Front desk service is bad, there is no wifi, Bed and kitchen clothes were dirty ! For sure I would not recommend it. There is no accessibility, several stairs to climb with the suitcase.
