We stayed in several 5 stars hotel over three weeks as we travelled across Europe and the hotel Orfila’s staff have really stood out to be well trained and attentive. Really management here has done well. Even at breakfast, the staff was very accommodating and anticipatory of your needs, which I did not experience so much in the other hotels.
This hotel is a jewel. If you love elegant boutique hotels with rich beauty, intimacy, and excellent staff, this place is for you. All the previous reviews have said it all! Staying at the Orfila made our trip to Madrid extra special. Muchas gracias a todos!
This luxury boutique hotel is located in the upscale district of Chamberi, close to the luxury shopping district Salamanca, and walking distance to Retiro Park, and the Prada Museum. Apart from its accessible location, the atmosphere and decor of the hotel is superb, overflowing with old world glamour. The hotel restaurant Jardin d’Orfila serves a great breakfast buffet in an even better ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive, helping us book train tickets, planning our travels, recommending museums, etc. We booked a superior triple room, but was upgraded to a junior suite for free by the hotel. The room was spacious and lofty, as it was located on the fifth floor in an “attic” like space. The bathroom included a walk in shower, double vanities, and a jetted bathtub. The hotel provided us with a mint foot mask, and chocolates to end our stay. Hotel Orfila has made our stay in Madrid wonderful in every aspect, and we look forward to visiting again.…
There are two types of five star hotels. The large ones, perfect in every detail, smooth running but impersonal. Then there is the small ones, usually family owned, often in classic buildings and very personal. The Orfila has five stars and is certainly personal, unique and very pretty in an old and beautiful building in a very nice part of Madrid. Pet friendly. The ambition is five star. But there is too much faults. For five stars, every detail has to be perfect. Our stay began with a rude receptionist. She stayed rude during our entire stay. The minibar fridge did not work so it took hours to get cold drinks. The room was pretty but there were no robes- every five star hotel has robes! There were no extra pillows. One lamp did not work. There was no small night light in the bathroom. And to top it off - no ”do not disturb” signs for the doors! We would have liked to give them four stars for the pretty room and the couple of helpful staff (not the surly receptionist), but our expectations were just stumped. …
Perfect location, beautiful rooms, fabulous service, the doorman Jonathan is lovely, beautiful breakfast, all of the front desk employees are knowledgeable, helpful. Don't look any further this is the best.
I really enjoyed my stay at Orfila. My room was neat and clean, and the location of the hotel was very convenient. Special thanks to all the staff members for being extremely friendly and helpful with all the bookings, taxis, entertainment etc.
Hosting a group of 16, the hotel staff were great in accommodating all our requests. Each and everyone of them is great, under the guidance of Emilio! The rooms are lovely, the breakfast is lovely, all perfect! I recommend for 100%
Every single person on the staff at Hotel Orfila with whom I interacted could not have been more helpful & friendly, starting with Carlos. The property and decor are charming and the hotel staff pays great attention to detail, making for a very enjoyable stay!
This was our first trip as a family of three and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. Hotel Orfila is a true gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home in the heart of Madrid. The service was impeccable and personal thanks to the wonderful people. They are truly what make the property shine and what would make us return in a heartbeat. We were sad to say goodbye! Our bedroom was spacious, with more than enough room for a stroller, crib and an area for our child to play on the floor. The hotel truly took the time to make sure that we were comfortable and did not miss a single detail when it came to our baby. Our bed was luxurious and very welcomed after busy days in the city and the eating nook was ideal for snacks that we had in our room. Thank you so much for an enchanting stay. We can't wait to visit again.…
I would highly recommend staying at the Hotel Orfila. We recently visited Madrid and stayed at the Orfila because we have had great experiences at other Relais & Chateau properties and the Orfila lives up to our expectations. We loved the quiet and superb service and kindness from all the staff from the Carlos (the desk manager) to the staff at the hotel restaurant. Carlos and his colleagues helped us with making reservations not only in Madrid but Carlos took care of us with his recommendations in San Sebastian. We had an early train leaving Madrid and the restaurant staff ensured we had breakfast (already packed) for our 5 hour train ride. The Double Superior room was extremely comfortable and spacious for two people. The interiors were very tastefully appointed from the soothing color scheme to the furniture and the amenities (essential Nespresso and lovely teas as well as Alvarez Gomez Colonia-very Madrid!). Our reservations included breakfast which was excellent and convenient for our busy days. The Orfila was always the perfect and quiet place to return to after our fun-filled busy days walking and touring the great city of Madrid. Thank you Carlos and the entire staff for making our visit to Madrid very special. We plan on returning with our children!…
