Come to Madrid often, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Their typical Spanish breakfast is delicious, Jamon, cheese, bread and tomato. I love the leafy street and city sounds below when I open my windows. Great place to get over jet lag

I stayed at Preciados for three nights with a group of friends during our Europe - Morocco trip. Its my second time and everything keeps in developing all the time. The Hotel is located in the center of Madrid and it was very easy for us to get there from the Airport using the Metro. The rooms were big and... More

We stayed in their least cost room and it was fabulous. The room was just big enough, but we only wanted a quiet, comfortable (4 star) accomodation in a central location. It ticked every box, plus 10%. From the free mini-bar to the plush bedding/pillows it was perfect. The staff are calm polite and welcoming. It is surrounded by cafes,... More

Friends recommended the hotel as a good base for our city break. They were right. The location is central for sight seeing and easy for English speakers to find using the metro from the airport; would have been even easier if they hadn't been refurbishing one of the lines. The room was just big enough and the bathroom very well appointed. Great... More

This is a very nice hotel located in the middle of the action. Close to the main museums, the food market, El Corte Ingles, Puerta del Sol and tons of restaurants. The building and the rooms are very nice and comfortable and the staff are very helpful and nice. We stayed here in two different occasions. The first time we... More

Located on a pedestrian mall full of restaurants and coffee shops & bars. close to most attractions (transportation not needed) even though the metro is very close. Also near to various stores and departments stores including a supermarket. Friendly staff, clean room but furniture seems to be a quite old. Bathroom is superb. It was nice to come back to... More

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location for walking everywhere. We had a really nice room with a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The bathroom was huge with an amazing power shower and Jacuzzi bath, perfect after all the walking! The mini bar in the room is complimentary and filled daily with a selection of... More

Had a room with a view of the walking street. Very much worth the cost for the experience. Great location for walking the city. Great staff with good suggestions. Can't recommend highly enough for any excuse to visit Madrid.

My husband and I stayed here last week after visiting the island of Menorca. This hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Madrid on foot. The staff; front desk, bellman, restaurant and housekeeping were always helpful, very professional and extremely pleasant. We were acknowledged or greeted us with smiles whenever we encountered a hotel employee. The hotel is tastefully decorated. Our... More

Nice sized room, especially with huge bed and good sized shower room with giant overhead shower. The room was decorated in a very modern style with lots of different lighting including being able to choose your own colour lights! Good quality free wi-fi and free mini-bar help make the hotel reasonable value. Nice breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
