I stayed in Hotel Preciados during a business trip to Madrid. The location is great, it is walking distance to restaurants, museums, shopping, etc. The hotel is very modern- it is AC, a rainwater shower head, free mini bar in the room, and free wifi. The staff is also very helpful. The buffet breakfast in the morning has nice options,... More

Everyone here was really helpful, welcoming and made this a great hotel. The location is amazing, with everything in easy walking distance and dozens of places to eat and drink within 500m. Rooms were a bit small, but that is to be expected in a city center hotel. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Hotel Preciados! The room was lovely with a beautiful modern marble bathroom. You might want to request a room on a higher floor but we were very satisfied. The hotel staff was professional, helpful, and gracious. The breakfast was delicious and generous. The location was also great. We would definitely recommend and return to this... More

Great location with most of the main sites in walking distance. You can park your car through valet for a fee and you have to drive through a pedestrian street to get there which can be confusing. I called for instructions when I got there as it was not intuitive. The rooms are modern although small but overall happy with... More

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, easily accessible, reception is very friendly and helpful. The rooms aren't luxurious or have anything extra, but it does the job. Bed is comfy and clean. I supposedly got the bigger sized rooms and was still kinda small for me, but no problem. Had a tiny terrace. I enjoyed the facility. The breakfast is something I recommend... More

The hotel has a fantastically central location. We were in Madrid to see an opera at the Teatro Royal - that was just about a 5-minute walk away. It is beautifully appointed - in fact, it feels as if it has been recently refurbished - there's a delightful "new" feel about it, even though it's a historic building. Trendy furniture... More

My best friend and I stayed two nights at the Preciados. It was perfectly located in a lively but quieter area just a two minute walk to Puerta Sol. It was the best of both worlds with convenience to Sol but quiet for a restful sleep. The rooms are nice and very clean. The staff is fabulous. Quite friendly and... More

First off, for exploring Madrid, the location was perfect. I would have recommended the place based just on that. But then the Hotel Preciados turned out to be so much more. From the moment we walked in, the service was courteous, friendly, and profession. The room was immaculately clean and quite spacious for the reasonable price. We will return to... More

Our room was 421 and being a corner room it had 2 balconies. Free WIFI and good air conditioning. This hotel was well run; staff very helpful and good English. The hotel is brilliantly placed in the middle of the Royal sector so you can walk to many attractions. The hop on hop off bus is a good option for... More

Restaurant was great and the outside tables had water sprayers hitting us all the time to keep us cool we we able to walk to the Palace which was only a ten minute walk. I've never seen so many restaurants and cafes everywhere we walked. All of them were great if you live sushi there must have been at least... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
