I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I can not really mention big negatives. In general the hotel is very good. First of all, I liked its location a lot. It is located in a cute ideally clean and quiet area called Alonso Martínez which is totally walkable from all major Madrid sights. There are a lot of restaurants/cafes/bars near the hotel. A few shopping streets with many different shops are super close. The hotel is located inside of an old historic building, but it is renovated and looks nice from outside as from inside. The hotel lobby is very nice. I especially liked the old elevator, which was very small but just fun to ride. By the way, there are also a few modern new elevators too. The front desk staff in general was friendly and sweet. The only one thing they were always annoying about was wearing a face mask. Every single front desk person was strict about this and yelled at me every single time, when I forgot to put my mask on entering the lobby. By the way, I really loved the housekeeping lady who I saw every single day. She was extremely sweet and always asked me if I needed anything even after she cleaned the room. I got a room on the 4th floor with a small side-street view. I believe it was a good thing because it was pretty quiet in my room all the time. Plus, the building across the street was super pretty and made the view enjoyable out my window. Also my room had something like a little balcony (it was impossible to stand there, but it was more like a balcony for flowers) which was cute. I often opened the window and enjoyed the fresh air. The major negative thing about my room was its size which was kind of tiny. I barely had space there for a few big pieces of luggage brought by me and my partner. However, the bathroom was big and looked super nice! Its big plus was a bathtub which I used almost every single night with a Lush bomb. It was such a treat during the cold days of December in Madrid! Unfortunately, I did not like the bathroom amenities (it is the standard NH hotel stuff they always use, and I am totally not into its cheap smell!). Also, as always in every single NH, there wasn’t a toilet brush, and finally I had to buy it on my own, because the hotel did not provide it. Coming back to the room, the bed was pretty uncomfortable, which was strange as beds are usually great at NH hotels. Also I did not really like the pillows, they were kind of hard. I also was not impressed with the closet which was small and barely fit my stuff. There were not enough hangers inside of it. Last negative thing was the refrigerator which was super small and did not fit a lot of drinks. Wi-Fi was working good and fast during my entire stay. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a big plus! Another final negative thing I want to mention is that the hotel’s staff always closed the entrance around 2 a.m. After this time I always had to ring the bell and wait until someone would come and open the door for me. Usually it was no problem, but once I had to wait for like 2 min, and it was super cold outside. Not the best experience. Finalizing my review, I totally recommend this hotel for a stay if you come to Madrid. I am sure you will not regret staying there. And, by the way, it’s a very good quality for good value (I paid approx. €165 per night, but it was close to Christmas, when rates were obviously higher than usual. It was one of the cheapest rates in Madrid City Center at the time of that booking).…
The floors in the 2 rooms I tried were in great need of thorough cleaning with water and soap (for this I requested a change of room). I was told this would be done but my new slippers had too much dust, etc underneath after 4 days to suggest the floor had been cleaned thoroughly (although it was probably hoovered). Breakfast was good.
Room and bed were very comfortable. Bathroom was large and clean. The hotel is located in a nice area, safe and clean, with access to all you could need. The staff was professionally friendly. Good service. Good breakfast. As always very happy with NH. Most definitively recommend.
I was travelling solo with my 2 kids, and really appreciated the hotel staff help. Friendly receptionists that facilitated everything they could to make our stay a great experience. Most definetely recommend.
The room was perfect for me, had everything I needed. Location was good. Metro (subway public transportation) was right around the corner. Lots of cafe's, restaurant's and shops. Not far from the train station if you want to venture out. I would stay here again if and when I visit Madrid again.
