I've stayed here on at least 5 occasions in the past 2 years and it's usually comfortable as it should be as its a 4 star centrally located hotel. This visit however was not so good as my room was next to the service stairs on the first floor and next to the store room for the chambermaids. Banging and...

My partner paid for this 4 star hotel for a surprise birthday treat, staff were friendly on arrival foyer is welcoming. Allocated room 125, on opening the door, we found a dingy dark room, with shutters over the window. on opening the shutters the "window" opened into darkness which all you could see was a fire escape and what looked...

Went to Madrid on a weekend trip what a fabulous city and then this hotel just managed to add to the charm of this wonderful city. This hotel had everything the location is great in the centre of the hub of what Madrid is all about. We were given an upgrade on arrival and the rooms were really nice spotlessly clean...

We sayed there for two nights in august for a special occasion. They knew that were comming for a celebration so they gave us a thematic room (they kind of upgraded us). The room was okay, very small but renovated and clean. They have private parking under the hotel what makes it very comfortable. The breakfast was also good but...

Well located hotel, and a good price. Unfortunately we were on the ground floor in room 3. If booking ask ahead and avoid any ground floor rooms as they overlook the service yard. We had a redundant staircase in our room and were woken at 7:00 on a Saturday by someone cleaning out the industrial bins.

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of days due to My business trip. The location is pretty hot considering it's just in the Madrid city centre with easy access to almost everything . Overall the hotel is good with a right balance between the old and the new style and the sound of the piano player when you...

.....but a great location for a short trip. The staff were very welcoming, the interior looks outdated but quaint at the same time. There's a bar downstairs and the Internet is of average speed. The rooms are sparse but clean with a decent sized bathroom. I had an early check in room on the 1st floor so no need to...

Stayed for 3 nights in September. Room number 8 is not the room you want to stay in. Although it is nicely decorated, clean, big and nice. But the location of the room is terrible. On the same floor as the bar, restaurant and reception not to mention the piano player who played every night. There was so much noise...

The biggest down point of this hotel is that that staff has the English level of a three old. How the hell do they expect to host visitors from foreign countries?! Asked three times for towels, didn't receive. Also you have to submit 50€ deposit at the check-in.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
