We had a lovely stay in the HRC hotel in Madrid . Don't have breakfast as it's very poor , there is a coffee shop down stairs and the staff tend to work there rather than in the breakfast room. Otherwise we couldn't fault the staff who were very nice and helpful . We would definitely return .

I wish I could give a good review. I don't like giving bad reviews. The positives where, a great location and those at the front desk were nice when we weren't discussing the air conditioning problem. First, do not be fooled by the fact that it has air conditioning. I have NEVER experienced where the hotel staff goes to the... More

Me and my boyfriend went for a long weekend for his birthday. Jose Carlos behind reception is amazing couldn't be more helpful even managed to help us get Real Madrid football tickets! Definitely takes an extra step :) hotel is in a great location. View was of a wall out the window but that is my only criticism. Would defiantly... More

Absolute gem of a hotel in a quiet area of Madrid but just minutes walk away from the vibrant cafes, squares, art Valerie's, parks, shops, markets...and we only stayed four nights. Very clean rooms, great breakfasts and lovely helpful staff especially Jose. We were made so welcome with his cheery smile and his local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble.... More

We were lucky to get the number with balcony and a great view. Such a wonderful time we've spent drinking wine with melon just after sunset! This hotel is the best for those who aren't party animal and prefer to sleep well being far enough from noise and close enough to city center. Jose Carlos - best hotel manager I've... More

I am just coming to the end of a one week stay in HRC. The room was great as usual and we definitely made use of the air conditioning due to the high temperatures. Fast wifi connection helped my friend catch up on work whilst here as well. The staff were great as always with Jose Carlos, Carlos and everyone... More

Our family of 3 stayed here for our 3 nights in Madrid. This is a basic European tourist-class hotel - small rooms with an on-site cafe serving breakfast. The one nice surprise in the room was the huge bathroom which was nearly as large as the sleeping area. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable. Oscar at the front desk... More

Spent 4 nights at the hotel with another couple. We both had rooms on the fifth floor with balconies which were invaluable for an early evening drink before going out for a meal. We stayed in Madrid for 2 nights and chose this hotel for its location and price. The hotel sits close to La Latina neighbourhood and metro station. It only takes around 15 minutes to walk to Plaza Mayor. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is also commendable as it was kept very clean. We stayed on the... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
