After a month-long trip of traveling through Spain, I arrived to Madrid utterly happy yet exhausted. Yet as luck would have it, I was a guest at La Pepa and the next 4 days of my trip would be the best. I immediately was welcomed...More
I stayed at Lapepa with two girl friends in May 2012. We absolutely loved the hotel. Our room was very spacious, clean and very stylish!
The location of the hotel is unbeatable! A 2 minute walk to the Prado and 10 minutes to the Plaza...More
This place was great to stay at. So close to everything, quick walk to Prado Museum, to airport bus pick up and Hop On Hop Off Tourist Bus. Breakfast is nice, room was very clean, staff are lovely. Our room faced internally, and there was...More
Lapepa is in a good location, and has nice internal style. I didn't try the breakfast (I left very early), so I cannot say on that. It's nice that they leave glasses, water and milk at night if you're thirsty. I had problems accessing the...More
We recently stayed here on a quick trip to Madrid, and found it to be great for us! The room was small, but we weren't there much, so who cared? The bathroom was a bit of an adventure- very tiny with a shower so small...More

The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de
Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.

Unfortunately you don't have carte blanche when it comes to kitchen use. I don't think they would mind if you helped yourself to a hot tea or milk or water during some late hours but that area is primarily used for breakfast... More
Unfortunately you don't have carte blanche when it comes to kitchen use. I don't think they would mind if you helped yourself to a hot tea or milk or water during some late hours but that area is primarily used for breakfast service and reception. When we stayed there we had a bit of time before we could check into our Airbnb and they were so kind as to allow us to lounge there for as long as we needed and even offered us up coffee or tea even though the breakfast service was done.

Favorite meal was at Muki which is right around the corner from La Pepa Chic. Best place for a drink was at sunset at the Ciculo de Bellas Artes. Had a fun meal at Meson del Champinon - they had live music and great mushrooms! We walked everywhere - very walkable city. Have fun!
