Lapepa is a fairly budget B&B and was probably one of the least costly places we stayed in Europe. But don't let that deter you from staying here. The location is within walking distance from all the tourist sites and some great restaurants. The room we stayed in was fairly small with just a bed and drawers for our stuff....

This small b&b is in a great location! Central to walking everywhere of importance in Madrid ! There are two restaurants directly below, that offer very reasonable food, snacks, and drinks. It's a very short walk to the Prado and Thessy museums. Paula who works days at the desk is beyond helpful! So knowledgeable about everything, and willing to help...

Easy to get here from airport. Very quiet and AC worked great. Staff very attentive and helpful. Two cafes downstairs with coffee, beer and food. Reasonable prices. So close to museums. Weston across Street if you need a cab. Breakfast was nice too.

This is another one of of my traveling choices that is based on Trip Advisor Reviews. I have not once been disappointed. This place was so central for walks in all directions. The museums, parcs, small shopping stores, and , of course, tapas. Instead of going to one tapas restraurant, go to Mercado San Aton and have, at least, 10...

Not a typical B&B, more of a European Boutique hotel with European type breakfast included. The place is decorated so nicely....simple and beautiful! The location is AMAZING, so close to all the fun and sites in central Madrid, especially the museums and the Retiro Park (this like Central Park in NY, where you can have a great stroll and sit...

A solo traveller, I stayed at Lapepa for 4 nights in May 2016 and was delighted with my choice of accommodation. Lapepa is centrally located close to the Prado Museum and the detailed, easy to follow map I received on arrival proved invaluable. It's important to know that none of the tourist kiosks I visited had this map. With it...

Thank you! I recently stayed at Lapepa and had a fantastic time. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, it was so close to all the art galleries and other attractions. We were checked in by Paula who could not have been more helpful and gave us so many great suggestions that made our stay even better. Thank you Paula!...

It is the ideal accommodation for people on a budget who don't need to spend time in their room. The room are very simple but clean with all what you need for a good sleep. Don't expect anything fancy. Staff is very friendly.

The Lapepa is located on the 7th floor of an office building directly opposite the Westin Palace Hotel but despite this less than imposing entrance this is a great place to stay in Madrid. The staff arre excellent, extremely helpful and full of ideas on what to do and see in Madrid. Whilst the rooms could be described as minimalist...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
