The hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to awesome eateries, bars, shopping areas, attractions, even an awesome grocery store! There is some construction going on inside and outside but it didn’t bother us! There were no instructions on how to call the front desk anywhere! On the last night, we were told it’s on the key card! They could have easily stuck it on the phone itself! Anyway what those figures mean on the key card was not obvious to me!! They have black and gold pods - the gold seems like coffee not sure what black is or if they even serve tea. Again no instructions! It’s a mystery!! The hotel is so clean - loved it! I would not pay for the breakfast though. With such amazing choices when you step out, why eat the hotel breakfast? It’s a huge spread but got repetitive for me even though they changed the pastries, meats etc… You can borrow an umbrella with a 10 euro deposit and charge adapters (from US to Spain plug points) with a 5 Euro deposit per adapter. They rerun the deposit when you return the stuff. They have soap, shampoo plus conditioner, bath gel, body lotion, shower cap, comb, 2 free bottles of water,4 biscoffs, sugar packets…. We had a room with 1.5 baths and a living room - very convenient! Lots of storage too! I would stay at Hotel Liabeny again, even though I am the sort of person who likes to try different highly rated hotels, just for the super clean bathrooms!!

If I am in Madrid again, I would definitely stay at Hotel Liabeny. Our room was quiet, scrupulously clean, well furnished, and spacious. Front desk staff were kind, patient and always willing to help us navigate the city in a comfortable, creative way.. Concierge took the time to mark up key locations on a map, along with giving us some useful insider tips. He also helped us figure out how to use the metro and rail systems, which we used extensively. Breakfast buffet is vast, attractive, and tasty. The hotel runs smoothly, earning its 4 stars. And compared to prices in American cities like New York and San Francisco, the Liabeny is a great deal.

Great hospitality and concierge especially Vincent. Fabulous location, modern and comfortable with welcoming restaurant and coffee. More upgrades to break out area, but had no impact on our stay. The early departure picnic was ideal for a train journey.

This hotel was ideally located for sightseeing in Madrid. We could walk everywhere. There were several restaurants within walking distance also. The room was very nice, quiet and comfortable. My only concern was the condescending manner in which the staff treated me. I was really put off at this and personally insulted. This was not a one-time incident but reoccurring. While I do like the hotel, I will think twice when I return because of the staff.

The room was not that big but good for single use. Bathroom was very clean. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was really big advantage as it is very central and convenient for shopping, restaurants, cafe, and within couple of minutes walking to the live road Gran Via.

We were offered and fell for an upgrade for 25 euros a night as soon as we arrived (our own fault I suppose) with them saying the rooms had just been upgraded. I don't really believe they were *that* new as there were tell tales signs of wear and tear here and there on the corners of the bed for example. Having said that, the hotel and staff were OK. Lady at breakfast was a bit cold shouldered but not offensive. Dinner waiter and bar staff were fantastic though, can't fault them. It has a good location which is the main thing to be honest.

Fantastic Hotel!! I arrived early for check-in because I had just arrived from the airport and was VERY sleep deprived. I asked Marco at the front desk if my room was ready yet and he said he would check. I then asked if I could have a very quiet room because I had not slept in days!! Marco could not have been nicer. He said he would have a room but it needed to be cleaned. I came back later and the room could not have been more perfect!! I had some wonderful sleep on a very comfortable bed in a nice, clean room. Everything was spotless. The shower was great. This is an old school hotel with EXCELLENT customer Service. Pedro and Fernando helped me with directions and luggage. Pedro had the most welcoming, kind smile and always treated me with patience and respect. The location could not have been better. It is on a side street but close to everything you want to see in Madrid. Great restaurants and shopping close by. I loved this hotel so much and it was really because of Marcos, Pedro and Fernando!! Thank you!!

The hotel has a very nice location. One could reach by foot all the Madrid most important sights. It has a private parking place which is very convenient. I must say something, there were problems getting there due to construction works around the hotel. It was really quite challenging and dangerous arriving at the hotel. Everything could have been avoided just by sending us an email explaining the situation… a pity. The room was ok. The breakfast ok but not as good as the ones that we had in all the hotels where we stayed during our tour in Spain. The service was just ok… not as friendly as one is used in Spain… I would say that the hotel is a seven out of ten.
