This hotel provides exceptional service and high quality rooms near the heart of Madrid. We stayed there for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the time. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the city. There’s a parking garage conveniently under the hotel where we parked our rental. We took public transportation while in the city. In the courtyard pictured, they set up a lovely brunch with an international array of foods for brunch.
The two weeks I stayed there with my family we had an amazing experience with high quality furnitures, they treated us very well and it's well located in the city, efficient chek in and check out, it really has a good architecture.
Overall it’s not bad. Service is good but not great, after all, it is intercontinental. The room is relatively small, but the terrace is ok. The hotel location is prefect, there is a subway nearby. That can get you anywhere in Madrid. Very good restaurant tho
Stayed 3 nights as part of a tour group. Location - although public transport is available, it is quite far from the main shopping and dining avenue in Madrid. The reason for this was it was in the residential part. Don’t expect shops and convenience stores nearby. Also finding restaurants can be quite a walk. Lobby - it was beautiful, spacious , elegant looking. Room- appreciate my room considering it was of European standards which is typically small. Liked the Tv , lighting , bed , pillow menu , automated mini bar and the 24 hour room service offered. Didn’t like though that I can’t seem to make my room cooler. Can’t control my AC temp panel. Liked my bathroom which was spacious but shower is in the bathtub . Amenities , loved it , even providing bedroom slippers, though they didn’t provide bottled water on our first night. Wireless internet doesn’t need a passcode, it’s free , fast and signals reach out even outside the hotel. Breakfast - their buffet is one that I looked out for every morning. Western stuff and some of Spanish highlight cuisine such as churros and chorizo are a fixture . Also liked the ambiance and their courtyard, got to check it out . Staff - yes , I want to thank the staff who “unlocked” my luggage . The lady FD staff who changed my foreign currency , she was cheerful . Duration of our stay was from March 10-13 . Would like to thank the staff , even the bell service, housekeeping , concierge and breakfast staff for the poise and professionalism exhibited under this dire circumstances. We checked out one day before the state of emergency was issued for the entire country. Lastly , I wanted to single out mr Jose Luis Villa , of the breakfast staff. He was really cool , attentive , and friendly. I hope he gets recognised. Thank you Intercontinental Madrid for the 5 star experience. Challenging times are ahead affecting the entire planet and one day it will be all fine. This comes from a former Intercontinental Ambassador and a level 102 Tripadvisor hotel expert . …
Return visit to this hotel. Another excellent 3 day stay. Friendly welcome from doorman and efficient check in at Club lounge reception. At this time I will point out the only blip during our visit. We were offered a welcome drink . Great may we have a beer and a Cava Sorry we only have beer or soft drinks !!! I was charged for Cava. I have been in many club levels and I understand that alcohol is sometimes only served at certain times but to be charged for a welcome drink irritated me. Now everything else was excellent, friendly efficient , professional service throughout hotel. Good house keeping and comfortable guest areas. Fantastic Sunday brunch that should not be missed. We look forward to returning.
