Paola was just AMAZING !! THE PERFECT HOST !!! The ROOM !! The Food !! OH MY GOD !!!! JUST DIVINE !!! The location is in the middle of so many beautiful boutiques, and restaurants. And parking is just a block away. I walked in each direction and found myself in all the landmark spots in MADRID... I cant wait... More

Rodolfo and Paola have a very nice B&B in a great location. It is spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and good breakfasts. The A/C plus the ceiling fan in our room easily handled Madrid's heat, greatly improving our comfort. Our room had a nice little en-suite bathroom, small, but again spotlessly clean. We appreciate Paola and Rodolfo's concern for us... More

A very nice room, with a great shower. Very nice litttle details like a small chocolate on your bedside table. My room was a little noisy, but that was the only downside. The b&b is in a great old neighbourhood, within wlking distance of a lot of museums and a very delicious foodmarket. If I am ever in Madrid again... More

The location is walking distance to museums, squares, and a multitude of restaurants. The host was very friendly and helpful, giving ideas for activities and restaurants within walking distance. Our room was clean and spacious with AC, a must in July! The bathroom was small but clean. Parking nearby was expensive, as to be expected in the city. We enjoyed... More

This is a great place to be based to explore Madrid. Walkable to everything you could want. Wonderful hosts and lovely atmosphere. Great breakfast at a communal table - we were happy to meet the other guests. I would not book the smallest room unless I was travelling alone though. It was too tight for two and the bed is... Of all of the places I have stayed in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Budapest, Prague and Vienna, this was by far my favorite! Rudolpho and Paola have created a uniquely cheerful, cozy and comfortable home for distant travelers and the service was second to none! What I enjoyed most was having breakfast at the community dining table where we exchanged stories... More

Never mind that the rooms were clean, colorful and comfortable. Never mind that the location is right in the heart of Madrid's artistic district. Never mind that they serve the best homemade sweetbread and grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast. The one thing that impressed me in my stay was the charming couple, Paula and Rudolf. They were very friendly and... More

My wife and I stayed at the Artistic B&B twice in May 2016 and would gladly stay there again. The facility is on a quiet street in the heart of Madrid, within easy walking distance of the Prado, the other major museums, the Plaza Mayor, and just about any place you would want to visit as a tourist. The rooms... More

Rudolpho and his wife are awesome hosts. Always willing to help with anything needed. Rooms are very nice and unique. Breakfast every morning with a different homemade bread each day. Located on a fairly quiet road that is within 20 min. walking distance to most areas of interest in Madrid. Will definitely be our choice again if we return to... More

We spent four nights during our recent trip and had a fabulous time. The young couple that runs the B&B are great hosts, and it was a treat talking with them each morning. They provided a lot of information on the area, arranged our taxi pickup on the morning we left and even managed to squeeze in a quick breakfast... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
