My husband has been staying here for many years, while on business. This trip was now My 3rd visit. Absolutely cannot beat the location. I go everywhere by bus and the 19 drops me right infront of hotel. And also takes me to where i need to get to. Lol. Close to museums…. Love the rooms, the mini bar selection , have not tried the spa yet but like the services offered. If I were to nitpick, i’d say that the breakfast selection should have a better quality croissants, muffins and cakes, a lot was prepackaged, the selection you’d find at an airport lounge. The rest of the buffet was fine except the breads-selection. I would ALWAYS stay here.

A nice stay at the Wellington Hotel. Helpful, friendly staff. A very inviting and comfortable lounge room for snacks, cocktails and a late night dinner. The room was larger than average hotel room, and all services were competent and efficient.

Everything about the Wellington is amazing starting with the Sunday brunch to the Ricardo Sanz outstanding chef tasting menu. The spa provided the best deep tissue massage I ever had and the pool provided an oasis during the hot summer days. We cannot wait to return.

From the outside it looks great. You get a warm welcome in the entrance, the rooms are very nice, room and cleaning service also very good. Super nice gym and spa too, (spa is not included cost around 50 euro each). The big disappointment is definitely the outdoor restaurant and pool area. This place needs some love and renovation. The pool is located in-between the houses so the sun hits the pool area around 1pm. The restaurant is not a cozy place for lunch, and it also closes at 8pm. I believe they need to renovate this whole area to create a better personal vibe and live up to a 5 star rate. Going to Madrid you want to relax by a nice lounge pool area and also have a drink outside late at night. I can imagine this place being 5 star 10 years ago but nowadays there’s much other places in Madrid I would pick. So to summarize, going to Madrid for some sun and relax, I wouldn’t choose this place.…

Our family group of 11, including 5 minors, very much enjoyed 2 stays, one at the beginning and one at the end of our trip. Excellent breakfast in an elegant setting. The Reception Desk was very attentive to our needs. They arranged for initial transportation from the airport to the hotel, and later to the Royal Palace with a very competent and cordial guide. We will surely come back!

We have just stayed for our second time at the hotel. Everything is amazing, the whole staff, the breakfast is the best I ever had, the location just very close to Park del Retiro, swimming pool perfect for kids and adults and the rooms are clean and extremely quiet. Don't miss! You will just feel comfortable staying in such an elegant and 5 stars hotel.

Very good hotel in the Recoletos neighbourhood of Madrid. The room (no. 423), although on the small side was very comfortable and had an air of old time luxury. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood around the hotel has many restaurants and shops, including some upscale ones, and many Madrilenian attractions are within walking distance.

This lovely, elegant hotel is a delight in every way, from its prime location in the Salamanca neighborhood to the clean, impeccable service, beautifully appointed rooms, terrific salt-water pool with ample shade and lounges, and the over-the-top breakfast buffet. I've reviewed the Wellington before, but want to add one more thing which I just discovered on my third stay--the 6-6:30 pm Sunday gathering of the bullfighters in the lobby of the hotel before going off together to the corrida (bullfight). However you may feel about bullfighting, the outfits of the toreadores, picadores and banderilleros are absolutely stunning. If you happen to be at the Wellington on a Sunday when a corrida is scheduled, just sit in the lobby and wait. The hotel staff assured me that there was no problem taking pictures, and in fact, it was seen as a compliment. A visually perfect way to end another perfect stay at the Hotel Wellington. …
