The hotel is located in Salamanca which is a very nice area in Madrid. We booked an executive room in order to have access to the executive lounge. We took our breakfast there. The choice and the quality of the food for breakfast at the lounge is very good. The cleaning of room was impeccable. Something I hadn't experienced since...

From the moment I arrived the staff were polished in serving guests. It felt like they genuinely liked working here and everyone was friendly and efficient. The rooms have a plush characterful ambience without seeming contrived or unhomely. The continental breakfast included could be had in your room, exactly on time and served in beautiful crockery. It is ample and...

The Wellington Hotel is located in a perfect spot of Madrid, in Barrio Salamanca, where the action is!!!!!!!!!! You can walk everywhere and the ambiance is very classy, and besides that, the restaurants are well known.

Bedrooms were too hot, with no possibility of regulation; we had to keep the window open. Some of the rooms are in need of renovation. Breakfast is poor, with no great variety of fresh fruit and cereals.

Wonderful hotel. Well worth opting for the Welling Club facility. Fantastic nibbles and drinks on an exclusive area on the 7th floor. My only irks were no gift from the artisan in house bakery was offered or an article of clothing that was included to be ironed. These were never mentioned and were supposed to be included and whilst not...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
