Beautiful Hotel - Horrible experience (September 2017)!
When your room is robbed a day (or two) before you leave the country, if that isn't bad enough, the Wellington's response, or maybe total lack of response, is 100 times worse.
Our room in the Wellington was...More
A good location, if you enjoy walking 10 to 35 min to get to most places. I love to walk but if you don't then be forewarned. It is near a metro stop.
The rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast is excellent but starts...More
I was in Madrid for business and needed a well located hotel. I stumbled upon this jewel of old fashion Spanish hospitality. Great service everywhere in the hotel, good sized room with great bathrooms and wonderful beds (and pillows!). The bars are great for meetings...More

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff are very friendly. The location could not be better for shopping, dining and museums. The bar is so unique and quaint. Their attention to detail is unmatched.
Had a bad experience with hotel staff. It was embarrassing specially in presence of other guests with their behavior. Later they apologized and accepted their mistake and corrected it too. But my first experience was disturbing and disappointing!

Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of
opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

We had the taster menu which I thought was delicious despite some poor reviews on their here. I hope this reply was not too late for you and enjoy your anniversary.
