I stayed in one of these apartments for one weekend, and i loved it. It was very big, but comfortable. Very clean and new. Air conditioning worked great. Well equiped with everything you need to live there. The only negative thing : It was missing a toaster ...

I was there from Nov. 8-11/2015. I booked an appartment with balcony but I got a room back of the building (-). Location is good! staff spoke english and they are friendly/helpful people. Towels were not good but you will got a confortable and clean bed. Unfortunately, WIFI is weak! it did not work at all.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in November 15. Check in was smooth, staff spoke good English. The apartment itself (5B) was bright, modern and clean. Cooking utensiles, pots, pans, glasses, cups and cutlery were all provided. Apartments location cant be beaten. Few minutes walk to Opera Metro and an about 60 seconds from plaza mayor.

I stayed at Apartments Arenal for 2 nights in October 2015. If you're just skimming these reviews, let me make it clear from the start - just don't stay here. For those who want more details, this was one of the worst hotels or apartments I've come across in Europe. First impressions were fairly good, with a speedy and friendly... More

Room is just in the center of Madrid, between Puerta del Sol and Opera Madrid, near to metro stations. The room was small, but enough for 2 people. It was quetly and clean. The staff was so kindly. We fall in love in Madrid. Thank you.

The reception was a bit difficult to find, but we made it in the end. The actual room (so called apartment) was a couple of blocks away from the rece ption and the location was perfect. Just in the center of Madrid, near Puerta del Sol square and metro station. Our room was on the 4th floor and there was... More

At the beginning I was quite biased about this apartment because of the price which was very low (quoted from "booking" website:22 € per day per person more or less). But when we got there we changed completely our mind: it was a very comfortable apartment fully equipped, fast wi fi, tv, everything.... The position is very convenient, in the... More

I wanted somewhere to spend a chilled out weekend with my wife in Madrid based in slightly upmarket luxurious SC accommodation in central Madrid. The Arenal apartments are really central, just 10 mins amble to the plaza Major, only a few months old and have based their decor on the IKEA look, which is fresh and modern. The place was... More

We where at the end of our trip travelling Europe and after finding these apartments at such a good price, we really couldn't have asked for more. Me and my partner had the 'standard apartment' for 8 days at an amazing price. On arrival we where greeted by a lady who checked us in very fastly and spoke great English.... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
