I would highly recommend this place! It's not luxurious but it is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The location is great, very close walking distance to lots of great restaurants and bars and 3 metro lines all very close. Only criticism I have is that the street it very noisy at night.

It may well have been that we got the worst room in the place, but I'm struggling to recommend Hostel Foster. The location is great, the bed comfortable, it was reasonably clean. However we were beside a building site where it sounded like they were pumping concrete at 6am, whatever they were doing, I would challenge anyone to sleep alongside!... More

The staff is very nice and helpful. They upgraded us to a small flat on the top floor. It was quite acceptable and clean. Might need a small do over. The location is perfect to visit Madrid. We walked almost everywhere. Although it's central it's in a quiet street. Overall good experience. Nothing exceptional. Just the internet was bad. It... More

Normal for Madrid quality / price ratio. Supermarket located near the end of hotel street. Walking distance to the center 15 minutes, to the nearest metro station Santo Domingo - 2 minutes. Interior of the hotel suits more for girls, everything is pink, smell of perfume etc. cons: The rooms are small, the sink in the bathroom has the size... More

This hotel is very well located. I had a Single room and the staff told me before that it is tiny. It was tiny but clean. The staff was very helpful and kind. The walls are thin and you can hear the neighbours snooring. Anyways overall it was a good value for money. Would probably not go with a family.

Very nice room design, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom, Hostal Foster is located in the heart of Madrid, close to many beautiful tourist attractions, and there is many restaurants around, the staff were very nice and friendly, I would definitely like to stay in Hostal Foster again.

We stayed here for 4 nights, it has been a great choice. Lovely room, quite small, but was perfect for a few nights in Madrid. The Foster is located in a very nice neighbourhood of Madrid, Malasaña, and it is possible to go on foot or metro to the best spots of the city. Friendly staff, the wifi connection is... More

Hostal Foster offers a great location to explore Madrid downtown and Gran Via area. From the hostal you can walk to many of Madrid's attractions or take the subway at any of the nearby stations. The surroundings are dark and the hostal may be difficult to find when arriving (it is located on the 2nd floor of a building that... More

Small room for 2 people, leak of water into the room from bathroom when used. The lift was out of order for a whole week, so we had to carry up and down heavy suitcases. The staff didn`t speak any language except Spanish. Front desk was empty almost all day and night

The location of this place is perfect. Just off the Gran Via, easy to the metro, walking distance to the Prado, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Its located on the 2nd floor of an apartment building, and there is no common area, just a hallway with rooms off of it, which is kinda weird, but... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
