We were handy to everything. We could walk, bus, taxi. Everything at our doorstep. An incredible place to visit. Would spend more time their next time. The accommodation was clean and well presented. An amazing city.

My partner and I stayed 3 nights here which is centrally located and well priced. Manager very friendly and welcoming. Clean double bedroom with balcony onto outside street which at nighttime was very noisy so hard to sleep. Dividing walls between rooms are very thin and it's possible to hear conversations in neighbouring room. Sound travels very easily. Bring earplugs...

Low budget hotel in excellent location. The owner is a really helpful gentleman called Jose who is lovely. If you want a large ensuite go somewhere else and pay the premium. If you want a small economic room in a safe family run establishment in a brilliant location with a shared bathroom for a fair price this is for you....

Excellent location it is the street directly opposite the gran via tube station by the crossing. We got the airport bus to celebes then walked up gran via (sign posted). Hostel door before the body shop and on the 4th floor. Clean basic accommodation ideal for short break. Management very helpful will be visiting again.

This hostel is handy for The Grand Via,has a metro 2 mins walk away and though not in the least upmarket is fine for a place to sleep after a day's hectic tourism. I had a single room with small bathroom(shower over bath) which was adequate. One important detail,Google the EXACT location at it is very easy to miss the...

Location is excellent, staff too (but they don't speak English). Hotel is small, cheap, old but clean. Rooms are very small but fine. We had shared bathroom that was old but clean. I recommend this place for all budget travelers.

It might need a total renovation but the fact that you get a private bathroom in such a great location, right in the middle of Madrid, for such little money is great. It's a place to sleep and shower, which is everything we needed during our short stay in Madrid.

The hostal is not clean at all, all the facilities are very ran down. We couldn't find plugs in the room. And the WORST thing was that the room (and sheets) smelled of cigarettes and were absolutely disgusting! The hostal is located in a very central place, but is just not worth it.

This is a rahter typical Madrid hostal - located at a 4th floor of a big traditional city centre house, it seems a once huge apartment, now artificially divided into small rooms with a common bathroom. The rooms are very loud (you hear everything from the common hallway), and they are sparcely equipped - just a bed, a small table,...

25 euros for a couple in a two bed room with an attached bathroom. I'm giving it 5 stars, taking into consideration the price I paid. The regular price was 35 euros for a room with a shared bathroom. We reserved online a 25 euros special (10 euros discount). We got there a bit late. The room we had reserved...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
