I booked through the hotel´s web page and I got a very good rate for a 21 m2 room. To my disappointment when I arrived, I got a much much smaller room that what I had booked, a real hole with a view to a service staircase. I complained and I was told that what I paid for was for the smallest room and that I had been upgraded.!!!! I thought they were joking. I have to admit that they were very nice and kind, but they didn´t solve my issue, nor they intended to and I had to stay in that closet for a week. The hotel misleads its clients.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed there for a 3-days weekend. Service was great and careful. The room was big, clean, isolated against the street noises and comes with amazing bed sheets. All the hotel is kept at a cool temperature which is very appreciated considering it can reach 40° degrees in Madrid in the summer. The main advantage of the hotel is definitely the terrace and the pool. Breakfast was served there in the morning. Enjoying a beautiful view of Madrid while being in a refreshing pool or while taking your morning coffee is amazing! Health measures are being taken. There a limit of 6 people at the same time in the pool and the sun beds are being clean between each customer. I would recommend you book in the morning or the day before. Overall, the hotel was really great, we had an amazing experience in Madrid!

The hotel is very good in many ways and would suit some guests admirably, especially those with business, social or other reason to be staying in the Salamanca district close to the Retiro. In some ways it warrants 4 stars but..... it just wasn't what I had been anticipating. Having initially walked past the establishment on the opposite side of the road (obscured by roadworks) my welcome was competent enough and I did not need any help with my light baggage, although none offered. Common parts clean, safe, commodious and well presented. But anonymous, lacking in atmosphere or any particular charm. A bit like a more upmarket airport lounge. Waiters very kind and helpful. Room pleasant enough with non intrusive air con and well equipped- kettle as well as coffee machine, TV, decent lighting options, good range of complimentary toiletries, comfy bed and bed linen, nice pillows, robe and slippers, mini bar, proper bath (very small ) in pleasant en suite with a shower that you don't need to be Albert Einstein to get to work properly, outside terrace with good views and I am sure a nice place to sit (if, unlike me, you are not worried about heights) but in a line of other rooms' similar terraces so not very private. However there wasn't a lot of space in what I had thought to be special room. Fine for my single use but my Wife and I would have been bumping into each other if she had been able to accompany me as originally intended. Basement restaurant efficient enough for breakfast albeit an advised 5 Euro supplement for a hot option would have been a bit mean. Roof top restaurant pleasant (including overhead space heaters) with good food cooked to order and a nice wine recommended by the staff and as I did not sit near the edge felt comfortable when it got dark. Roof top plunge pool looked pleasant enough if you like that sort of thing and the concomitant view of the sheer drop beyond its glass fronted sides, and I can imagine the space generally is a pleasant "sun trap" at a more clement time of the year. A few other "niggles"- room lies immediately below roof terrace so anyone moving their chairs above produces intrusive and disturbing scraping noises. I noticed this with the hotel having only limited occupancy so it must be much worse at other times with more guests. Odd to find no waste bin in the room. Minor blemishes to decor, especially damage to the bottom of the bathroom door. Unsightly, nothing more. Couldn't get my head around the IT familiarity that would have been necessary to be able to view the menus ( I understand the health related reasons for this). Bath is very small ( I understand the need to save water) so even with only a few inches of water in it almost any movement causes spillage over the sides and soaks the floor. That is usually my Wife's prerogative! It isn't the establishment's fault but my longstanding reservation at a sister hotel closer to the city centre (where I really wanted to be) was cancelled due to Covid and I was offered this as an alternative. It just wasn't what I had been anticipating, but competent enough if that is what you want and want or need to be based on this side of the city. Still love Madrid though and will be back like a shot when I can!

We are from CHICAGO and my tour organized our stay at this hotel for 2 nights. We have a standard room on the first floor room 102. No view but that didn’t bother us as we are out and about all the time. The bed was very comfortable. The blanket also very comfortable. Water pressure in the bathroom is good. Room was modern. I am suprised they have so little review. The walk to retiro park is just around the corner and was beautiful. I think for the price, it’s a steal in Salamanca. I would def recommend this hotel. Oh by the way breakfast is excellent!
