I booked the NH Nacional because I know the NH brand and it's always a great hotel chain to stay with. When I arrived I was offered an upgraded for just 10€ and I have to say that the staff and the hotel were fabulous! The location is perfect for seeing the highlights of Madrid and also perfect when traveling... More

I am new to the NH Group and this was my first stay in this NH Hotel--close to Atocha and reached by metro line 1 from which the hotel is 4 mins walking. Very warmly received by a new trainee Isaac and give a most pleasant room.. I look forward to returning and would recommend

I stayed here for a couple of nights for business. The hotel is in a good central location of Madrid. Easy to go into the park on the other side of the street for relaxing or sporting. Also many other tourist sites and restaurants are at walking distance, so that's great. The hotel itself has the typical standard of NH... More

We drove a rental car so we wanted a place that was easy to drive to, had onsite parking, and was in a location where we could leave the car in the garage. This hotel was perfect. We were able to just drive into the garage without stopping first to check in or get a ticket. It was very convenient.... More

NH Madrid Nacional offers all you can expect from a 4* NH hotel in Spain: Nice, clean, newly refurbished rooms, some of them with a view (however, these are extremely noisy, if you leave the window open). Rooms are small, bathrooms are big, very modern, very stylish. Excellent service. Great breakfast. And your favorite sites - Museo Reina Sofia, Prado,... More

A good hotel for a short break. However, it's advisable to check specific details carefully when booking as there seems to be poor communication between NH central reservations and the individual hotel itself. Before booking with the NH central reservations, I requested for a superior room with view and bath with shower over, and was told that this was definitely... More

This is a very clean, quiet hotel, with spacious rooms. The bathrooms are amazing, two room units, which are really ideal when there are two people trying to get ready at the same time. Shower in one part, washbasin and hairdryer in the other. Best of all was the location - on the Paseo del Prado, within very short walking distance... More

Heat in the bathroom, impressive! The hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance to everything. We were upgraded to a superior room with park view. The room is brand new spacious and clean. The only problem was that the wifi was not functioning well during our stay.

This hotel is in a perfect location, within a 5 min walk from the train station in Madrid and the Pardo Museum is within walking distance, the botanical gardens are also right across the street. If you are into the Hop on Hop off bus there is a stop as well. I can't say enough about the location and overall... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
