The Hostal is not a typical Hostal but more a cheap Hotel with individual rooms but it is still affordable. So if you don't like sleeping in a Dorm but still do not want to pay too much this is the right place for you. It is in a good area close to public transport to the city center and...

It seams small but actually is really big. Been there twice and got two entirely different rooms by the same price. A night during weekdays is 40 euros and during weekends 45. There is always a room. Check-out at 12pm of your last day. The location is really good right next to metro moncloa and a lively zone by night...

I traveled with 2 other family members and stayed at Hostal Moncloa for 8 nights in a 4-bed room. I would highly recommend this hostal. The facility is very clean, quiet, and only 1 block from the metro. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are small - but beds, linens, etc. were comfortable. The newly...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.

“There is 1 room right off of the lobby/common area...it is a larger room but is the noisiest b/c of it's location. We were in room 3, which was very quiet with windows that opened up to the courtyard. The courtyard is basically a storage/laundry area, but it was nice to be able to get fresh air when we wanted.”
