The property is incredible however this is not a five star property. The rooms are tiny! Location is fantastic. The hotel does not have a concierge. The restaurant is uninviting and the food arrived cold with no apology. The front desk staff are rude and are not versed on activities or restaurants.

My family of 4 (my wife and our two teen kids) first time in Madrid and this luxury and historical property has a charming garden and ambience. Rooms are perfectly designed and extremely clean. Bathrooms have a second base for after toilets. Breakfast in the Garden is a must to experience the lovely quite green ecological surroundings. Food is normal... More

We visited this hotel last december and spent there 3 night + NewYears Eve. The hotel is in great location, not far from Prado and shopping malls, not far from restaurants but on the other hand in very quiet (embassy) part of Madrid. Shopping malls like Corte de Ingles in in walking distance. The hotel is very stylish and is... More

The hotel is grand with large rooms and beautiful outdoor spaces. The location is 2 blocks from Salamanca - best shopping area in Madrid and easy access to everywhere you would want to visit. This should be a five star rating however the service - especially in the outdoor restuarant and bar is non existent.

Service felt personalized from the minute we arrived. Our suite in the carriage house was perfect. Great bed. The outdoor bar and dining set up for summertime was an oasis in the city. Walking distance to museum district, Latin quarter, Salamanca, etc. Loved it and we've stayed in five stars around the world. This rates right up there.

Arrived ahead of time, got checked in quickly and they even treated us to an upgraded room. The hotel is beautiful & serene with great friendly staff. However the food in the hotel were pretty salty for my taste. I would definitely be visiting the hotel again.

Hotel is a former 19th century private luxury home in centre of Madrid. Arrived with a little jetlag so it took a while to realize they had upgraded us to a wonderful room with a huge bathroom and a large walk-in closet. Very quiet, comfortable room; friendly and discrete service; location, location, location; and elegant bar and common areas. Breakfast... More

This is one of the most luxurious hotels Madrid has to offer, old classic style with modern interiors, a mix of elegance and timeless decor. The international staff is very helpfull, the rooms are spacious and designed with love to detail, very elegant.

This is a luxury hotel that is far above my usual level - so perhaps I am easily impressed. The room was upgraded upon check in - and it was large with high ceilings and lovely décor. The bed was comfortable and it had everything I needed and more. The common areas and lounge were tastefully done - and give... More

My wife and I SO enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the room was amazing and the ceilings were a real treat, the decor was inspiring and grounds of the hotel were very well manicured. We would definitely recommend this place for sophisticated travelers with distinguishing tastes.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
