This is one of the best hotels I ever been in. Motly for the rooms design tbh. The classical decorations and style take you to another century (in a good way). Rooms are spacious and very neat. We got an awesome view on the park. Food was nice but could be improved.

I stayed here for a couple of days on vacation. The room was excellent, the staff was excellent, and I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is located right by some of the best places to see in Madrid. If you want to stay at a five star hotel, I definitely recommend staying here.

A charming hotel with very friendly staff. Service is as you'd expect from the Ritz and lobby, restaurant area is pleasing to the eye. The rooms and bathroom are quite dated and could definitely do with updating.

The hotel is about to undergo a massive renovation but that doesn't keep them from keeping this classic running smoothly. Next to the Prado the area is just where we wanted to be. The staff was incredibly helpful. The concierge desk Jesus and Borja made our stay memorable. They arranged for our VIP Prado tickets and helped us get into... More

Spent one night at the Ritz Madrid with family. The hotel has really seen better days. Looking rather threadbare in the main rooms and bedrooms. The electrical outlets, etc, also quite old so difficult to find appropriate places to plug in laptops, charge phones, etc. Food only so so. Dinner in the garden featured pretty good, but slow, service, and... More

It's like entering a world of luxury. Wonderful staff and service, excellent breakfast options. A grand hotel with beautiful furnishings - made us feel like Queens. The room is a bit dated, the shower a bit small; but loved the double sinks and the large sleeping quarters. The staff was very responsive and helpful too. This is a great location,... More

We recently stayed 8 nights in a 1 bedroom suite. the hotel has worn carpeting but most important the shower was so small, one cannot raise their arms to wash their hair. having stayed at numerous European hotels, this was way smaller than any other encountered. The price we paid for a 1 bed suite was outrageous considering the desperate... More

I enjoyed our stay immensely, the hotel staff were extremely attentive, impeccable, timely and helpful. The hotel is stunning, carefully kept and well located. The restaurants were outstanding, all a must-try, from Goya to the bar/terrasse. A wonderful, unforgettable stay.

I stayed here for a weekend with my boyfriend in May 2016. Now, firstly, I am really fond of hotels with old-fashioned charm, and Ritz is definitely one of them! The decor is very nice, rooms have a gret vintage feel. I also really like the lounge they have next to the lobby, we had some snacks (chocolate churros!) and... More

Staying at the Ritz was as much a thrill for me and my family (wife + 2 young adult daughters) as I imagine it was during its 'heyday' in the early/mid 1900's. The Ritz retains all the historical mystique and flourishes while presenting its always-in-fashion exemplary service. We never tire of staying in 'living monuments' to the Old Europe and... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
