I would never stay anywhere else. This is the best hotel in Madrid. They need some serious help with the room lights though, because at night you cannot find your way to the bathroom. Nevertheless, it is still the most beautiful hotel to stay in.

The hotel is old world grand. The location of the hotel is ideal close to the park, Prado, shopping street Sorrento and more. We did the tapas tasting on the terrace and that was treat. The biggest treat was a tasting dinner at Goya. The hotel arranged tickets for the Palace Real and the Prado - (the only hotel that... More

Friendly and competent service, high quality food, a wonderful garden and an exceptional location make this the perfect place to stay for a luxury weekend in Madrid. Don't miss a dinner in the excellent restaurant, enjoy a drink in the garden or a glass of champagne in the Krug bar. The Prado museum (as well as some other excellent museums)... More

We stayed at the Ritz for a business function and stayed a couple of extra nights to explore Madrid. After an early check-in the attendant gave us a tour of the ground floor and brought us an area where we could have tea and coffee. The room we had was beautifully furnished and on the fourth floor. Plenty of closet... More

If you require a new or newly renovated hotel with modern décor, then you probably won't care for this hotel. However, if like me, you love classic, elegant hotels with great service and attention to detail, then the Ritz may be the perfect place for you. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at this amazing hotel and were... More

We don't usually stay in "traditional" hotels, but settled on the Ritz because of it's beautiful location (right next to the Prado) and other excellent reviews. We weren't disappointed. No question that the hotel is elegant and from an earlier age. But the staff are warm, welcoming and even though I looked "American" with my shorts and polo shirt rather... More

I recently spent 4 unforgettable nights at the Ritz in Madrid and was pampered as a true king. Every employe went above and beyond our expectations and delighted us with unparallel service throughout our entire stay. Dinner at restaurant Goya was a memorable one so we went back the following day for lunch. We met Jorge the chef who shared... More

Next to the Prado and walking distance to many tourist locations. Fantastic staff and a great facility. Amazing concierge staff who can help with anything you need. Thanks to Borja and the concierge team. The hotel picked us up from the airport and took care of all of our arrangements for the week. Great restaurants and a fine spa are... More

Decided to spend the last day of our holiday having afternoon tea at the Ritz Hotel. Having recently had tea at the Ritz in London I was expecting a similar experience, but was sadly disappointed. The setting was tastefully decorated. The food on offer consisted of three small finger sandwiches on white bread and a very small roll per person.... More

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
