The Westin Palace in Madrid is a well located hotel, very close to El Prado museum and a neighbourhood with a fair amount of good restaurants at walking distance. I chose it for convenience and central location. The building is classical and beautiful. Interior very classical, heavily carpeted and plush bedrooms. Overall very comfortable standards as expected in a luxury...

"This is the exceptional service Starwood Guest look for," when traveling to other regions of the world people tend to forget the little things that make you feel at home. Stayed here last weekend for the Madrid Marathon, the location was perfect right off the main road Paseo del Prado where the start of the race took place. The hotel...

Ideally located along the Paseo del Prado, right in front of Neptune fountain, steps away from the Prado Museum, and just a short walk from Cibeles, Banco de España, Sol, or Puerta de Alcalá, this palatial hotel is a great choice for tourism. The building itself is, justifiably, a preserved landmark, and the inside doesn't demerit it at all. Our...

Famous hotel, second only to the Ritz. Location is very good: across the street from Prado and Thyssen museums. Rooms are comfortable, although those facing street can be noisy. Very expensive food and drink: 73 euros for 3 appetizers and drinks. Hotel charged me 642 euros by "mistake," which they said was for "incidentals," but that was not true.

Great hotel and well located opposite parliament and a short walk from the Prado museum and the botanical garden. The breakfast is extensive and the breakfast room has a wonderful ornate domed conservatory roof. Service is excellent and the bar very relaxing. Rooms are quiet, have an old feel but are newly finished and comfortable. Great conference facilities as well.

A beautiful hotel in a great location, within walking distance of parks, museums, plazas and restaurants. We stayed here as part of a Tauck tour. The public spaces were gorgeously decorated. Our room was spacious and very well-appointed and comfortable. Customer service was very good. Breakfast buffets were delicious. Our group had its farewell dinner here, which was very nice.

When you enter The hotel building you will find a beautiful and outstanding foyer. But Some meters after you will find a wonderful restaurant place with a dome on the sky. The place is classy and the people that work here are outstandingly kind. Location could not be better. Wishing walking distance you have the Plaza del Sol and many...

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, large rooms & great lounge for evening conversations. A short walk to Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum which is very nice & has a lovely restaurant for lunch w/outside seating. The hotel is also within walking distance to the hop on-hop off bus which is a value & allowed us to enjoy the 2 days fully. A Starbucks...

We stayed at this hotel on vacation in May 2017. The hotel is very conveniently located near Prada museum. The hotel has superior service, beautiful dining facilities and afternoon tea service. The Asian restaurant is unique and food is excellent. I strongly recommend this hotel if you can afford. Prices are in line with this seven star facility. If you...

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
