Honestly, I'm not sure why it's not rated even higher. I booked a last minute stay here because my previous hotel was awful. The second I walked through the door I knew I made the correct choice this time. They allowed me to check in early and took me straight to my room which was spacious, clean, and updated. The only thing wrong with the room was one of the outlets next to the bed didn't work but no big deal for me. I also loved that it's in a perfect location. I walked everywhere and if you don't want to go out exploring right outside the hotel you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants. Their breakfast was a bit on the pricier side for what they served but I still enjoyed it.
nH Collection hotels are all always a good choice. We have stayed in many hotels in Madrid numerous times. This was the first one in Palacio dr Tepa. We loved minimalistic rooms, views of Plaza del Ángel, silent hotel, stylish breakfast and super cleanliness. Staff was very professional and friendly. Location in Santa Ana and Plaza del Ángel is charming and in the middle of everything. It was a great possibility to book room service breakfast, included for the room price. If I would like to improve something, lightning in the rooms is quite weak, and especially bath room lightning.
A beautiful building with a amazing service. The room was impeccable, the bed and pillows are very soft, the premium room is amazing! They have a great breakfast wich you can include for a few extra euros. All the staff were a excellent host.
6 years ago we were in Madrid and stayed at the hotel opposite the Palacio de Tepa, which was a BIG disappointment. I swore if we went to Madrid again, we would give the NH Collection, Palacio de Tepa a try! We were not disappointed. The hotel is very centrally placed in a beautiful historic area of Old Madrid, is 7 minutes walk from the famous Prado and Thyssen-Bornemizsa Art Galleries and a 5 minute taxi ride from the Reina Sofia Art Centre as well as Atocha Station. In addition it is 5 minutes walk in the other direction from Madrid's unique and historic 'Plaza Mayor'. At this hotel the breakfast was very excellent, varied and totally delicious, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms provided everything but could have been slightly more cosy, but in a warm city like Madrid, you hardly spent hours in the room. Since I cannot tolerate air-conditioning, we slept with the window open...despite the Saturday Night Noise outside, we slept well!!! Would definitely like to stay here again, whenever I go to Madrid. a…
We have stayed a couple of times at this hotel over the last 9 months visiting our daughter. The hotel is lovely, in a really convenient area, we were able to walk everywhere. The rooms are nice, the first room we stayed in was overlooking the street with a juliette balcony, but it was not noisy and very comfortable, the second stay we were up on the top floor with a skylight and beamed ceiling, I preferred the first room as you could see what was going on!! Breakfasts were great, good selection and friendly staff. Would not hesitate to recommend.
I spent a weekend in Madrid and chose this hotel based on location and the walkability to restaurants, metro, train station and sights. It was a close walk to the botanical garden which is refreshing in a city setting. The staff went out of their way to help me with locating my luggage, booking train tickets and greeting me by name every morning. The rooms are well decorated and clean
Amazing hotel. Exceptional service. Everyone is so welcoming, professional and kind. The hotel is spotless clean, great bathrooms and bedding. Everything is A+ perfection! We got massages by Alberto and Concha. They were incredible. One of the best massages I have ever received. One hundred percent recommend staying here and getting a massage by these two!
The staff at the reception is really really nice! You feel welcome from the first moment: thanks a lot to everyone at Palacio de Tepa! They are all very helpfull and give you also a lot of tips for a memorable stay in Madrid
The hotel left me speechless from the first day, from the first worker to the last, but the kindness of serving us the waiter Miguel was wonderful and that is why he made us have a good time in the morning while we had breakfast, he transmitted his enormous joy. I also want to thank the receptionist who gladly helped us in everything he could. Great trip and I will repeat.
I have regularly visited Madrid at Easter and this was my first time staying in this hotel. Good points The location is good. A short walk to the Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor, the royal palace and cathedral. It is right by Plaza Sant Ana, a lovely square with lots of bars. The bed was pretty comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very good. Less good points The room was a bit disappointing. The lighting was not good. There were only the bedside lamps and one lamp in the desk, so in the evening it was very dim. There was no full length mirror, so I couldn’t check myself before stepping out. The bath had chunks of enamel flaking away from it and it looked very unsightly. It was also incredibly slippery when wet, with no bathmat. While there was soap and shampoo in fixed containers, there were no other amenities (eg shower cap, ear buds). It was difficult to get the temperature right, without the aircon it was too warm, but with the aircon, regardless of setting, it got quite cold. Finally, I did find that some of the staff at breakfast were a little rude, not everyone of course, but enough not to write it off as one person having a bad day. There are lots of accommodation options in a great city like Madrid so next time I think I would try somewhere else. While this hotel had some good points I just don’t think it offered value for money and didn’t meet my expectations for a 5 star hotel.…
