For a budget hotel located right at the centre of Madrid, with lovely rooms, in an old building but with all the modern comforts, and with such amazing staff, this place is really excellent value for money. It's a few steps away from Plaza Tirso de Molina, where you can find a variety of bars and restaurants. It's also walking...

I've spent 4 wonderful days in Madrid and this location was just perfect for me and my partner: right in the "epicenter" of this wonderful city, just minutes to walk both to the East, to visit The Retiro Park, Prado Museum and Naval Museum, and to the West, for The Regal Palace, Ceralbo Museum and Almudeba Monastery. We stayed at...

The main reason we chose this hostel was its location and reasonable price. But we actually got much more! The location was really great, it's just in the middle of Madrid with all the main attractions nearby (Plaza Mayor less than 5 minutes walk), very close to the public transportation and relatively quiet. But fortunately it's not only the perfect...

We have been in Hostal Art for 4 days (19-23 decembrer). Booked a double room directly contacting the hotel (and it was cheaper than all the other sites), 46€/night without breakfast. Notice that there is no breakfast in the hotel, you need to get out and go to the nearest point which is "Café del Patio" in which you can...

We loved our stay at Hostal art madrid. Very friendly staff. Rooms are very clean and quiet (which is a big bonus considering the great location of the hotel). Room were ready when we arrived at noon. Would recommend!

Simple but very clean comfy room. Slept well on the beds. Nice bathroom, hairdryer included. Very friendly staff, they were very helpful and kind. The hostel is situated near many Madrid highlights such as Plaza Mayor and the Prado museum. Within walking distance there are many restaurants, breakfast facilities, a supermarket and a theatre.

We had a very nice stay in this hostel. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely great, five minutes walking from Puerta del Sol, which is the very heart of Madrid. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. By the way, the receptionist (sorry I don´t remember the name) recommended a tour with a local comapany (OgoTours)...

4 days and 3 nights of pleasurable stay. Their staff, Judith and Maria were absolutely helpful, friendly and a delight specially for me and my family who were first timers in Madrid. The rooms are small but well kept. The location was perfect due to its proximity to tourist sites, restaurants, shops and Metro stations. I would highly recommend this...

Great location! We had a very clean (although small) double room & private bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, good strong shower & a quiet, working a/c. Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
