A small, clean, comfortable hotel near the center of Old Madrid, and great value for money. The receptionists during our visit were exceptional: kind, patient, knowledgeable and warm. The rooms are small, but bright and quiet. Bonus: there are several good restaurants a five minutes' walk away.

Me and my wife stayed in this hotel for one night (4th September, 2016) during our recent trip to Spain. Room and linens are nice and clean, but for a double bed - the room and the bath is too small. Front office staffs are very friendly and helpful. Aziz & Momtaz Chowdhury from Canada

We went on a family vacation for 4 days in Madrid and choose to stay in the family room. We read some of the comments here and thus we were concerned about the possible noise and the lack of space in the room but luckily we did NOT have any of those problems. Our room was big enough, very cosy... More

Perfect location, 3 minutes walk from metrostation Opera, in the middle of the centre. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Rooms are clean, and perfect for a City trip. Only negative point for the 'light sleepers'is that its quite noisy (slamming doors, could hear people talking next room and on corridor)

Great stuff, great location close to the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. You can also find many bars and discos around. Average room with a fridge, alright for sleeping. Nice choice for a 3 star hotel.

The hotel is in a great central location and the staff is very friendly. Thie room was small but had everything needed and was quite clean. The minibar was filled daily with water and coke for free. There is a big problem with noise however. We were at the far opposite of the hotel reception but heard every and anyone... More

Location is perfect, in tbe center, near the best places to visit in Madrid. All can be done by walk However the room was small, wc was small, hot water was not enough for shower for 2 persons successively!

The location of the hotel is very good, in an central part of Madrid and near metro stations. They offered a free walking trip, which was a very nice surprise for us. The room and the bed were comfortable . Worth the value. Only problem was that we could hear our next-door neighbours that spoke loud early morning.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
