Eluska and Grancario were helpful with recommendation and very friendly whenever we talked to them. Room is small, tidy, modern and clean. I just wish they have a small Refrigerator in the room, or ice machine in the breakfast room, as we had to ask couple cubes of ice daily if we wants cold drinks. Breakfast was plenty and I... More

A great little hotel right in centre of Madrid within 15 minute walk to most attractions and 2 metro stations within 5 minute walk(the metro station at bottom of street is closed at present) Lots of restaurants and tapas bars in local area. The hotel room was simply furnished but clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast had plenty choice... More

This is not the most elegant hotel one can find, but it is hard to beat in terms of comfort, convenience, and staff friendliness. The breakfast buffet is quite nice and varied. The day we left they even put it out a half hour early to accommodate our travel schedule. This is a place we'll return to gladly.

Very good location, old building that has been totally modernised inside with quirky art and white walls. Lift (elevator) to all floors. Breakfast good and, on my trip, included in the price. For a central hotel excellent value for money. Nice touch are the "disco lights" in the shower. Comfortable bed and good-sized room at the front of the building.... More

Hotel Mayerling is honestly one of the best hotels I've visited. The reception staff were immensely helpful, friendly and approachable. Breakfast was good value for money at 5€, and the rooms were great standard. Would seriously recommend.

We spent 3 night at the Hotel Mayerling and thought the location couldn't be better. The rooms are very basic but clean and fresh. The staff on reception were first class and extremely pleasant. I would recommend this hotel.

We spent four nights at this lovely hotel, advertised as two star but felt much better. We had flown in from Malaysia so we were very tired, Jani the lovely young lady at check in made the process quick and efficient. The room was clean very well thought out, our room on the third floor overlooked the street but was very... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
