I am forced to write this review immediately after checkin. I had booked through the Radisson website , where the description of the premium room with balcony talked about fancy descriptions like “Our premium rooms with balcony are ideal if you enjoy spacious surroundings “. The reservation was for 2 adults and one 8 year old kid. The photos on the website showed fancy furniture , upholstery etc. The moment I booked, my credit card was charged, effectively locking the money in. Somehow I started getting suspicious about a week back and called them multiple times requesting for a paid suite upgrade. Even though clearly there were available suites in the website they refused to do the upgrade. When I reached the hotel , the reception was a mess - had to wait for 20 min before somebody actually managed to provide the room key and that too he was more interested in knowing which credit card to charge extras to rather than welcoming . Interestingly the treatment meted out to a white family checking in at the same time was dramatically better including a free upgrade to a suite. Once you enter the room however the real shock awaits you - the room is small , dark and dingy , a chit had been taken out and placed outside the room to fit an extra bed on which nobody can sleep comfortably , the washroom is worse than a hostel washroom , there are hardly enough bathrobes , towels and toiletries for three . The saga continues …..…
Was greeted warmly by Muhammad on the evening that we arrived at this fabulous hotel. The hotel is very central to all the attractions including the Prado, the Park, the shops, amazing buildings and incredible restaurants. Our suite was just perfect for our 6 day stay. Stylish, spacious, comfortable and clean. Loved the art in the reception area. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly. It was my birthday that week and Lyn at the desk had remembered me mentioning it and on my actual birthday she came personally to our room and presented me with a cake and candle. I was truly touched by her kindness and how she helped me with restaurant choices that I had requested. In fact everyone at the reception were wonderful. We tried the hotel restaurant and bar. The food and wine were excellent and it was made even more special by the service of Andrei who was exceptionally efficient and very friendly. We will always have very fond memories of this gem of a hotel. When we come back to Madrid, which we will, we would not hesitate to come back here. Thank you Radisson Blu for making our very first experience of Madrid so very very special.…
We loved the property and amenities but save your spa experience for somewhere else. For some reason the hotel pool is located INSIDE the spa. I had no reason to realize this until about 10 minutes into my hour-long massage (for 100eu) when a couple came to the pool with their VERY noisy toddler . . . I have never had such a distracting spa experience in my life!! I commented to the masseuse THREE times about the noise and she did nothing about it. As well I made comment on the way out the door and wasn't even offered what I felt was a sincere apology. I should have told her to see them for her tip as I was so frustrated upon leaving that I didn't leave one and I hardly EVER do such things.
Well located hotel with nice friendly staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms, with excellent shower. One downside was 2 very old worn out rugs at the entrance which gives guests a first impression of a badly maintained hotel. Having said that everything else was very nice
Wow! Flights were very delayed and we didn't arrive until after midnight. The man who checked us in was very kind, cheerful and helpful. He made us feel welcome. The front desk staff during our stay was always helpful and pleasant. Our room was FANTASTIC, 20 foot ceilings (!!), a tiny balcony and so clean. The breakfast buffet was of excellent quality and the staff made sure we were very full. Never needed to eat lunch. The location is perfect. Walkable to literally everything in the Centro. Restaurants everywhere. The Prado is across the street. There is a grocery store around the corner. Also, it is a quick walk to Atocha station. With so many options in Madrid, it was difficult to choose a hotel. I settled on the Radisson as it seemed to be an excellent value; it is. For the money, I don't think you can beat it. If I come back to Madrid, this is where I will be staying.…
Not impressed if I’m honest. The front desk staff were dismissive and unhelpful. Our room had an opaque window so we could not see out!!! Even when you opened the window you could only see a brick wall, no sky at all, so it was impossible to see what the weather was like! The spa was closed, the lifts out of order for a while and there was the most foul smell next to the lifts on the 4th floor. We returned to our room at 4pm for a siesta and the room had not been serviced, we requested that the following day it was done at 10am, so we could have a rest when we got back from a walking tour, when we returned at 3.30 it was just being done. Staff not bothered in the slightest. The location is good, but I am sure there are far better hotels for the money.
I stayed 2 nights for a business trip, and got offered a room upgrade... thank you!! Beautiful interior design. Nice staff, polite and helpful. Lots of choice for breakfast, including fresh fruits and local specialities.
Very good location, very clean, superb rooms and all the staff was very friendly and professional. The restaurant Lona was very good, they offer spanish specialties that were all excellent. I definitly recommend this hotel.
Great experience as always - perfect location, best in Madrid, spacious, stylish high quality rooms, best breakfast possible, kind staff. As Radisson Rewards member I have always a special attention, room upgrade, welcome drink. For me it the best hotel to stay in Madrid for business or family trip
Really enjoyed my stay here and would be happy to come back. Stayed 6 nights and loved every minute. The staff and service of reception staff are outstanding. The location could not be better. Room was beautiful, clean, comfortable, good size. Fantastic stay.
