very good location - S Miguel market and Plaza Mayor are just across the street; quite room with a comfortable bed; nice breakfast; love the experience with the bicycles. They were on excellent conditions and free to use! The negative part - on the second day, it cames a very bad smell from the bathroom

Extremely good location right in the centre of the city with Saint Miguel Market across the street and the city hub right within walking distance. A very vibrant city that seems to never sleep. Highly recommended.

The hotel is modern and simple considering it is a 4 star hotel. But it is comfortable although the room is small. The barhroom is very good. The shower is amazing. The breakfast is also very good. Baut the best part of everything is the location. It is close to everything.

In the very heart of Plaza Mayor. Bars, restaurants, attractions, all within steps of the front entrance. This is a great base to explore Madrid from. Staff is friendly but you're really here for the location. Phenomenal!

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
