Possibly one of the strangest hotels that I've ever stayed in. Was here on a four day business trip. Good points Decent breakfast Pleasant enough staff Nice patio bar area Bad points: Presented with a key with a fluffy rock ape on - tacky from the outset No hairdryer Fridge removed to conserve electricity (BS from the hotel on going...

although the views were excellent, the hotel itself is in great need of renovation. We didn't eat in the hotel but Breakfast was a bit ordinary service was good. As in other reviews the hill climb is a bit challenging on a hot day if you have been shopping. i would rate the hotel as 3 star not 4. but as...

My husband and I stayed here 14-17 July 2013. Although the hotel is located on the Rock away from the main town and restaurants, it perches most beautifully overlooking Queenway Quay, The Marina and other beautiful landmarks such as Almeda Botanical Gardens. It is the place to stay in Gib, it is so Iconic, and although the walk uphill can...

I stayed for two nights on a business trip recently (booked for me so I had no choice of hotel) and had done so with some trepidation after reading the somewhat negative reviews below. Yes, the hotel does need renovation - preferably as soon as possible, however, its potential is unlimited when this is complete. That is because everything else...

We had a great night stay in May 2013. It was the perfect location to get to our wedding at the Alameda Gardens! Cross the road and you are set! The room was tidy and well-equipped, although in a 60's style (including an entertainingly outdated but still functional hair-dryer). The views from the balcony were spectacular, the monkeys were entertaining...

Negatives - The Hotel needs some renovations, which I understand have already commenced. Positives - Great Service, mesmerizing views and exquisite food. I have traveled all over the world and I was unsure if I should celebrate my wedding in Gibraltar. Even though I am a local there are many great venues across the border in Spain, but I am...

Dear Llanito-gib, Thank you for your excellent review. It is rare that the banqueting aspects of the hotel are featured in these pages so your critique is especially pleasing to read. We are very proud of the Khaima, our Moroccan poolside marquee and the work we do there, and your review is a welcome addition to these Trip Advisor pages....

Another great stay. The pool and staff were great. The bar staff were friendly and the breakfast boys! Looked after us well. As repeat, by about 15 times, customers we note the need for some tidying, mainly the frontage and balconies but our room was fine with a lovely bathroom. But the Barbary apes are naughty boys and girls stealing...

I can only reiterate the many points made by lots of reviewers below. This hotel is in extremely poor health in every regard. It is beyond tired; it's not even shabby chic - it just needs closing down now for renovation and the owners need to bring it up to its full potential. Rooms are like a 50/60s throw back....

Dear London69, Thank you for taking the time to contribute. Whilst I would agree that we are in need of some TLC (and this is now imminent) I do find one aspect of this review challenging! We knew that this hotel is having ongoing work and refit so we were expecting nothing new. The building though cannot hide from the huge charm and charisma that a 1930's building has.
