We stayed in the hotel for one evening after completing our Camino. We did not enjoy the stay. The room was very small on the 3rd floor and attic style. My husband is tall and kept on bumping his head. The shower was loose and very poor pressure so we had to bath. The water was luke warm. The walls were dirty. (See picture) There was loud music from a club nearby but we had earplugs which helped.

Hotel good access into the old town and very new and polished.great linens, toiletries and comfy beds and a good shower. Be careful getting out we both slipped!! Even with earplugs in room103 was incredibly noisy. The street is a dead end but the noise of engines revving, people shouting and the constant noise from the reception area/front doors was maddening. Breakfast good with a good choice of stuff.

We spent our first couple of days in Galicia in Santiago de Compostela, staying at the Capitol Boutique Hotel. The location is excellent - only a couple of minutes walk from the old town, the commercial area and the food market. It is a basic hotel, but comfortable. No frills, but it does its job well. The rooms are a decent size, with wardrobe, fridge (v helpful in warmer weather) and a car park (daily charge). The bed and towels were very comfortable too, and the shower/bath very good. TV is all Spanish, and the WiFi on the top floor is inaccessible. Also, watch for the slanted ceiling in the rooms on the top floor. Banged my head enough times. We slept well, it is very quiet on the top floor, although we had to turn off the power in the room at night because the fuse box was buzzing loudly. Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating (they had special gluten free stuff for us), except for early check-in. There does not appear to be any wiggle room on this despite requested at booking. Breakfast is a continental buffet in a narrow room straight off the main entrance hall. There is fruit, ham, cheese, yoghurt, pastries, cereal and tea/coffee/juice. Nothing cooked unfortunately. Personally, I'd save the money on breakfast and go out - it's cheaper and nicer in local restos/cafes.

Location is perfect, 10/15 mins from the Airport (no traffic). Hotel is on a quiet side street off the main thoroughfare, within walking distance to the old town - restaurants, shops, bars, park - ideal location. Hotel decor is very nice, very chic. Our room was lovely too, decorated very nicely, compact but had everything we needed. Bathroom nice size. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good in the morning and plentiful. Only down side was a "squeaky door" beside reception, which woke us in the mornings..!! Please oil that door. I would recommend this hotel.
