There's not too much to say. Santiago de Compostela is a relatively small town, and the hotel is about as well located as it can be - halfway between the train station and the Cathedral (about a 10 minute walk to both). That said, there are accommodations far better located - anything in the historic center, for instance. But the location isn't bad. The décor of the hotel is fairly faded and past its prime; the hotel needs some refurbishing. That said, the main problem I had was that the wifi was extremely slow. It was difficult even to watch a youtube video in 480 p, for example, which was a fairly frustrating experience. The restaurant is extremely over priced, and for this reason, I didn't have the chance to try the food, so I can't comment on that. The hotel itself was relatively inexpensive - around 60 euros per night - which is why I'm giving it three stars instead of two. Overall, a fairly mediocre experience.

I arrived later than expected, we were in a tour group. We had our rooms waiting for us. Dropped our luggage in our rooms and headed into town to eat and see the cathedral. Lobby is very ornate. My room was large, couldn't get it cooled down much. The bathroom was beautiful. If I opened the windows I could hear the night clubs on the street, but when I shut the windows no noise. They have breakfast in the lobby. I had to depart at 3am so I didn't get to experience breakfast. Front Desk did arrange a taxi for me the night before and had a hot cup of tea waiting for me in the lobby while I awaited the taxi. Location is great - walking distance to the cathedral and many shops and restaurants.

This hotel would receive five stars from us if it was located in the old town area. However it’s just a ten minute stroll there, but be prepared to navigate through the busy sidewalks of a nearby square where busses stop for awaiting passengers. Breakfast was tasty with many selections on the buffet, our large room was spotless and quiet, and the bed comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff too, they allowed us to check in early and offered great directions.

I spent one night with family in this hotel in Santiago de Compostela. The hotel bills itself as a 5 star property, but there were some shortcomings. Pros: Location is just a short walk to all main monuments. Parking is available for a small fee. Staff was very courteous at all times, including in the restaurant where we had breakfast. Our room had a sofa bed for 2 children and was large. Bathroom was large, toiletries were very good. Pool was small but nice. Room rate was excellent. Cons: Hotel is overall dated, with nice wooden furniture but showing signs of use, such as stains on the corridor carpet. There was a lot of art on the walls, which was nice, but a little too many things that altogether did not match with each other. A/C was very weak, did not adequately cool the room. Overall, one of the better options in a town with mostly budget hotels, just needs a little maintenance.

The location of this hotel is superb. In the new part of town but you are literally 5 minutes walk to the old town with the cathedral about 15 minutes walk. In the old town you will come across numerous restaurants who offer lots of fresh fish/meat to choose from. Lovely boutique shops too. Our check in was fast and they spoke very good English. The hotel lobby is a delight with lots of soft seats/sofas. Our first room was on the first floor which big and airy BUT we were placed directly above building works beneath and were treated to pneumatic drilling/kango drilling along with other work associated with it which was not due to stop until 8pm every day. As I am reviewing this today we are not sure whether the work has finished. The noise was unbearable but to the hotel's credit they moved us without any hassle to the other side of the hotel on the 5th floor. This room was as big but the bathroom needs updating and the furniture generally was tired looking but we were away from the side road with work.... If you have long hair you may like to take your own hairdryer. Old fashion one on bathroom wall took an age (I have short hair) and you have to keep your thumb on it to work. The housekeeping was superb. Our room was serviced daily to the highest quality. Is this hotel 5 stars? No. 3.5/4 at best. Once maybe but not now. They are missing so much here. For example, the pool area is a decent size but they are not using the outdoor bar area (closed off). No barman comes to see if drinks are required, you have to phone down or go yourself to order drinks/food inside. In the heat we are sure people would welcome a nice barman every so often taking orders. Although did not try it the hotel has a small gym and sauna. The big bar and restaurant are down in the basement where we felt there was no atmosphere at all. They didnt sell it very well. Not many people in there. We chose to eat in the old town. The cafe where they served breakfast was OK. After a 2 mornings we went elsewhere. The fresh fruit was nice but the hot food was not hot and very greasy. The toaster had a mind of its own it sometimes worked, sometimes it didnt. I would recommend this hotel because of its (1) location, (2) swimming pool (summer time) and (3) cleanliness. Needs tweaking here and there to honesty say they are 5 stars.
