We stay 3 nights. As others have written, the service we received from the staff of front desk and the breakfast area was always excellent. The hotel is 3-4 minutes walking to the entrance of the Cathedral. The breakfast was normal but very rationed, with limited amount of bread variety and croissants. Our room was very spacious and quiet, with nice view towards the Cathedral. I highly recommend it.

This hotel is very convenient to everything in the Old Town. It’s two minutes from Obradaios Square where most of the walking tours begin. Our room (103) was cramped because the bed is large, and so were our suitcases. Try to book a larger room for more than one person. The breakfast buffet was good...definitely “continental” in style.

Situated centrally, so very convenient location. Room was nice, but wrong shape, so not much room to get around bed and bathroom was smaller than my en suite at home (and I do not have a massive house!) Also had some noise outside during the night as we were street facing. The breakfast was OK, but no hot food offered. Bit disappointed there was no bar/lounge area to relax in; the only area available was in the secondary reception which I didn’t find very comfortable. However, the staff were lovely, all spoke English and were very pleasant and accommodating.

Dear Jayne, Thank you for very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We truly appreciate it. We are glad to know you enjoyed our location. Regarding the room, as you have seen we are located in a historical building, so we had to preserve its architectural features during the restoration works. Despite this, we have different rooms with different sizes. We hope you can visit us again to have the opportunity to enjoy one of them. Kind regards, Hotel Carris Casa de la Troya”

I have to deduct a star because our room 104 had people outside talking until 5 am. I think these people were somewhere around the corner but since everything is stone ie streets and buildings the sound carries and amplifies. This is not the fault of the hotel however even double windows in this room did not keep the noise out. Finally had to look for my earplugs but we had to get up at 6:30 am for a flight. The location near cathedral was great and the staff very helpful in looking for a specific food restaurant for us. However we could not find the restaurant recommended. We asked two local ladies and they had not heard of it. Who knows. Anyway one of the ladies walked us to another restaurant and went inside to find out if they served lamb, which they did. She recommended the restaurant and it was very good. This lady really made me like Santiago even more. The hotel made sure to have our breakfast and taxi ready at 7:15. Prior to our trip, I advised hotel that we would be celebrating my birthday and wedding anniversary and any consideration would be appreciated. They advised hotel was full so could not get a better room. No problem but a celebratory token would have been very appreciated. They missed an opportunity to make our stay spectacular. I hope they can work on soundproofing their room as that was only drawback.
