We reserved by booking.com and because we were going to arrive late, called to confirm two bedrooms, one twin beds and one double bed. When we arrived there was only twin beds availability. The point is front desk employee was rude saying they couldn’t guarantee double beds because they are high demand, and that he didn’t know what the lady on the phone said or what we understood. In the end, the twin beds are together! The cleanness and accommodations are good and nice. This is an example of a really uncomfortable moment for the client that could easily be solved with kindness.

Response from Direccion Z, Coruña at Hotel Zenit Coruna

I greatly regret the situation so uncomfortable with which it has been and for that reason I would like to apologize. After seeing and studying what happened, we found that it was a human error that caused this confusion, Indeed the young lady who spoke with you confirmed a double bed but at the time of his arrival, for an error of assignment and verification They were not available. Still, I'm glad you found our establishment comfortable. Sorry again if our staff has not been able to address you in good terms, it is not at all usual, since our customer service is very well valued. Thanks and we hope to see you again. Elisabeth Estevez.

The room photos sent with the confirmation e-mail don’t correspond with reality, the check in was ridiculously slow. It is cheap enough on weekdays but I won’t book a Zenit hotel again. It is clean but impersonal, should have booked an Airbnb again instead of “treating” myself to a hotel.

First of all I want to thank you for your time in sharing your assessment with us. We feel that knowing that this time the first impression that has taken on our establishment has not lived up to their expectations. Every day we work in different directions to be able to offer our clients the maximum information about our establishment and our services, in our website you can see all the types of rooms and each of them with its corresponding photo. I do not know where the misunderstanding may have come, it could be that upon receipt of the confirmation of the reservation came accompanied by a general photo of the hotel without reference to the type of room. I do not know if we have been directly or a web page that could have led to confusion. We will make the pertinent investigations to oder correct this type of errors. Thank you for your supplies and we sincerely hope to change your mind and encourage you to count on us in your next visit to the city. Elisabeth Estevez. Director

It is said that Gallegos are stingy. There are many reasons why I don’t believe this but the Hotel Zenit is not one. The breakfast was OK but the good Spanish stuff like the ham and manchego cheeses were served in such small portions that a normal serving would have emptied the plate, leaving nothing for others. There was a pot for coffee and tea in the room but if you wanted coffee with caffeine, as most of us do, you had to order it from the bar. No little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, only gel. We returned late one night and no one had cleaned the room. They were very apologetic but did not offer a discount. When we checked in, there was only one person working who was on the phone for a very long time. The place was fine and it was clean if the didn’t forget but they try so hard to save money that it wasn’t hospitable. Oh, and I don’t recommend paying extra for an ocean view. It means you get to look down a street that has water at the end.

We had superior twin room 501 which had very clean and comfortable accommodation including lovely enclosed double aspect balcony sitting area with views of beach/sea and park/town. Reception were extremely welcoming and friendly - parked car in their garage underneath and left it there for two days while we thoroughly explored A Coruna on foot - a town with lots to see. Would definitely stay again. Didn't experience breakfast as we went into town each morning to eat what the locals eat for less than 4 euros for two! A very good value place to stay. Would stay there again if in area.

Thank you very much for your great impressions on your stay at our Hotel. Indeed the rooms like the 501 are the best to enjoy a lot of space and a beautiful view of the sea, very good choice. Our staff is happy to attend all tourists who come wanting to enjoy our city, and as you say "on foot", regardless of the car because we are in a privileged place to reach the most emblematic places from the city. We are glad to know that we are a reference for you. We hope to see you soon. Elisabeth Estévez. Director
