I stayed here for two nights - although I should have extended my stay as it was so pleasant. As this was my first time to A Coruna, I was unsure exactly where to base myself (city center, marina area, old town). This was most ideal. Located right on the waterfront with views of the Torre of Hercules flickering off in the distance at night - you just can't go wrong (especially at 25 euros/night). My room was absolutely huge with two queen beds, writing desk, built-in armoire, flat panel television and spacious updated bathroom. The staff (day/night managers and housekeeping) was super friendly, always willing to answer any questions I may have had regarding A Coruna. The beach area is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the city center, marina and old town are roughly 15-30 minutes walking, depending on exactly where you want to be. I walked to the Torre of Hercules in about 40 minutes - a most pleasant walk along the waterfront/beachfront. I was able to walk to the bus/train station (35 minutes), but there is plenty of public transportation available to/from the hotel area. There are numerous cafes, bars and restaurants located within a stones throw from the hotel. The only negative is that there is a small bar located downstairs and depending on the crowd, it can sometimes get a bit noisy at night. Next time I find myself in A Coruna, I will definitely stay at Hostal Almirante.

Great place and service. Outstanding restaurant! Probably one of the best choices to visit Ferrol. A real pedal in Galicia: navy, castles, history, charming nature and lovely people. The coast and beaches are just outstanding, as the people. We've enjoyed our time here. We'll repeat, for sure!

Hostal Almirante is a budget hotel at the end of the wonderful beach of Riazor. It´s basic but very clean, there is no noise from the street, and the owners are quite helpful. Also, the wifi works very well, as well as the heating and the shower. In other words, all that you need to spend a few days in La Coruña for little money. And, if you get room 116, in addition to that, you get some wonderful views to the sea.

We stayed here in October and were pleased with the cleanliness and size of the room. We were in a quadruple with the children. It is basic but fine for a night of sightseeing. The location is very close to the beach & centre, but on reflection I would advise staying in the Old Town for another visit.

I stayed here with several family members and we enjoyed it. This is more like a hostel than a hotel, but it was very clean, the rooms were spacious enough, and even though there was a bar downstairs it was very quiet. The beds were clean and comfortable and I slept well. The bathrooms are spacious, clean, and they provide all the typical amenities you would expect of a hotel (shampoo, conditioner, soap, even a toothbrush kit). The people at the front desk were pleasant and helpful, and some of them even spoke English, (which was not needed with our group, but still appreciated). The location was great for us as it's right across the street from the seawall. There were plenty of bars and even a club within walking distance, and taxis were also easy to come by. We had rental cars with us and were able to find parking only a couple of blocks away. This is not a four-star luxury hotel, but it's a nice place to crash overnight so that you can explore the beautiful city by day. I would definitely stay here again.
