It's always a pleasure to come back to Liberty. I never doubt that this is where I will stay when I am in Sitges. Now for 8 years in a row. Was there on a 3-week summer holiday - partly with friends and partly alone – in the Penthouse.

The whole hotel is an oasis of unpretentious friendliness - the stay is a massage of the soul. The hosts Dietmar and Thomas provide a very personal and completely unique atmosphere.

The hotel has a very quiet location, only 5 – 10 minutes' walk from restaurants, bars, and the beach.

Breakfast is eaten in the very charming courtyard with all the little teddy bears that are part of the hotel's personality. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone. The courtyard is also ideal for a small drink before going out to eat or out on the town.

The room (Penthouse) was again very comfortable and spacious, a comfortable bed, good cupboard space, tv, refrigerator and nice air conditioning in the summer heat and a good cleaning. The 2 large roof terraces with the possibility of shade were used in the warm and sunny weather. WIFI works super well everywhere in the hotel.

For everyone who wants a personal and relaxing, unpretentious holiday, I can only warmly recommend a stay with Thomas and Dietmar and their absolutely lovely hotel.

I will definitely come again and I am already looking forward to the next visit. See you later.

We've been coming to the Hotel Liberty every August ever since it opened and it just gets better and better. The building is beautiful; this is no soulless big box, it's a gorgeous tiled Cuban-style high-ceilinged building. The rooms are charming and very clean, with air conditioning, decent TVs and comfortable beds. Hosts Dietmar and Thomas are very welcoming and make us feel like family. Oh, and the brunch in the garden is excellent! We always leave feeling pampered and relaxed. This hotel is a real treat.

Very difficult to add anything else to the glowing reviews already posted here except to back up the claim that this probably one of the most friendly places you are ever likely to stay. My wife and I only met Dietmar but what a gent. We were on an early flight out so he got up early, made us breakfast and drove us to the airport himself - not saying that is possible for everyone but that speaks volumes.

As pointed out elsewhere, this is an old building and comes with the challenges that an old building brings: things breaks and there are nooks and crannies that need attention. But only the really fussy are going to find fault when the overall ambience of the place is so charming. And if there is a problem just tell the hosts and they will sort it out double quick.

We stayed in the basic street level room at the front of the building. Absolutely fine for a few days and we did not detect undue noise.

In summary, if you are looking for a relatively centrally placed B&B and want something that is not the run of the mill, look no further ...

I had booked the Liberty Hotel to celebrate a big birthday in Sitges with family and friends.
DietMar and Thomas could not have been more helpful with organising rooms and dealing with changes, some very last minute. Nothing was any trouble to them.
The hotel is charming, very comfortable beds and rooms. Breakfast was just delicious and there was always plenty of it.
Excellent WiFi and international TV. I was able to connect my own fire stick through the tv and WiFi.
The hotel is perfectly located opposite the train station in Sitges but I did not hear one train.
I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough, have a look at the gallery on their website, it’s not a modern building as such but the beautiful decor and staircase actually add to the hotels charm. High ceilings and large doors and windows, very stylish.
Thank you Dietmar and Thomas for taking such great care of me and my group and for also helping us celebrate the special occasion. The cava reception was a beautiful touch so thank you.
I will be back in a few months and look forward to seeing you again soon..
Robbie

We've just returned home from a 5 night stay in Sitges, in the hotel Liberty. We loved it. Dietmar the host was so friendly, the room was very clean and spacious with a balcony and view of the garden, and the breakfast was lovely. If you're looking for a budget hotel you won't go far wrong if you choose the Liberty, it's a 2 minute walk from the railway station and about 10 minutes from the beach.
We took the 'BusGaraff' bus from the airport (get off at the first stop, about 25 minutes from airport) which costs 8 euros each (I think a cab would be 50 to 60 euros).
One note worth mentioning, there is no lift so if you have one of the 2nd or 3rd floor rooms and struggle a bit with stairs you may want to request a lower room, it didn't bother us too much though (although I did need to stop for a 'breather' halfway up!).
All in all a gem of a hotel, give it a try!

Room 24 has a bed with an old mattress. There are indentations from overuse and made for slightly uncomfortable sleeps. The ceiling above the shower dripped with water from the upper floor. Besides that, you've got friendly hosts and a great housekeeper who go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The location worked for us despite the occasional traffic noise outside. We were looking for a place near the train station and to be within a short walk to the BCN airport bus. We didn't mind the longer walk to get to the beaches. Beach towels are provided to borrow and that was very convenient. A supermarket is across the street to get food/drinks to bring to your room where there is a small fridge. If I return to this area, I'd consider staying here again.

Hotel Liberty never lets us down! Dietmar and Thomas are so warm and welcoming and the hotel is incredibly charming. The sumptuous breakfasts in the teddy bear garden are totally relaxing. We love staying in this gracious old Cuban style building with high ceilings and many details, kept in wonderful condition. It's centrally located and we look forward to coming here all year long! Our friends in New York and L.A. already knew about this hotel and envy us because we can come here so easily. This isn't just a hotel, it's a cultural touchstone. Don't miss it!!!

An amazing find. I was collected by arrangement at Barcelona Airport and whisked in a red Mercedes to the hotel by Thomas the proprietor. The hotel is slightly off centre and a very welcome break from sterile international hotels. The building is old and the doors fixtures and fitting are in keeping. There is not lift but as I was on the first floor I managed well. Breakfast was a feast with Thomas collecting fresh croissants from a neary baker for me. The bedroom had a pleasant balcony which overlooked the garden. One bonus was that the television in the bedroom was linked to Netflix so there was always something on offer.
I enjoyed my stay in Sitges and recommend this splendid little two star hotel.

We could not have chosen a better hotel for our stay in Sitges. This is a small but well located hotel, very central to the old town with its shopping, bars, restaurants and beaches. We had 5 double rooms for our group and they were all really nice, clean and well equipped with fridge, safe etc
The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff had created a large table for 10 so we could sit together which was really appreciated. I'd come back here without hesitation. The staff could not have done more to make us welcome.

We had just come off a virgin voyages cruise and had a couple of days to kill before the flight home and decided to stay in Sitges we chose the liberty because of all the great reviews. We were not disappointed. We got there by train from Sants in Barcelona 4.60 euros and a couple of minutes from the station. We had booked the penthouse as was not much more expensive. The room was fantastic all the mod cons and a view to die for, very clean. The staff were amazing. Sitges is amazing with a great atmosphere and more than enough to keep lgbt visitors happy. Would definitely stay here again
