Elizabeth and Tony are fabulous: flexible, accommodating, warm, and personable. They take the time to make sure you are comfortable, have all your needs met, and give you great recommendations and advice for the city (places to go, things to do, places to eat, easy transport... all). . We stayed in their Loft because of an unexpected change in accommodations,...

I spent five nights in Barcelona with a friend of mine and we stayed at The Patio where Liz and Tony took good care of us. Situated close to a subway station, it's very convenient to get there and to get to all the interesting sites in the city. The Patio is a perfect B&B with very clean rooms and...

This is a hard review to write. Our stay at The Patio was a bit of a comedy of errors and I don't think it's fair to hold it against the owners. The B&B itself is wonderful. Comfy beds, good location, great price and delicious breakfast. The patio upstairs was perfect for lounging around with a bottle of wine. The...

We stayed at the Flat for 3 nights at the end of May, and if you cannot get any more local than this. The Flat is located a block away from the main B&B, and the building reminded me of old buildings in the beginning of 20th century with the old-style lift (by the way - fits only 2 people...

The Patio is an exceptional place for a holiday. The warmth and friendlinesss of Liz and Tony , even when we arrived at 01.30 after a flight delay was amazing. The twin room was well equipped with very good beds and was delightfully quiet. Breakfast is a triumph fresh fruit cereals yoghurt and a selection of breads and preserves. There...

Rather like the story, ‘The Secret Garden’, finding The Patio was like going through the magic gate. When the taxi dropped me off outside a typical Barcelona apartment block, I pressed the buzzer expecting to get in a lift and travel upwards to my accommodation. Imagine then my surprise when Liz, the proprietor, met me and led me along the...

Liz and Tony the proprietors were extremely helpful and made the whole experience absolutely wonderful. The Patio is tasteful and clean. We used the twin-bedded room which was very quiet at night. The Patio is near enough to transport facilities and made travelling around seamless. I would definitely like to stay there again and would recommend the experience. Particulary enjoyed...

I stayed there with my mom for 4 days. The place is very calm, the location is great in front of a metro station, the room is very dark and a little bit hot. Liz is very nice and friendly, she was helping us all the time with tips and maps. The problem was that she didnt clean the room...

It has been a while since I've arranged my own accommodation abroad, but this couldn't have been easier. Liz and Tony (the owners) responded to e-mails promptly and make booking very straightforward. So, off to a good start! We travelled into Barcelona from Girona airport (fly to Barcelona airport if you can! it's nearer!) and then following the instructions provided...

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Patio is a cosy two room B&B tucked away in the inner courtyard of a larger building in the Ensanche neighbourhood. The B&B is totally separate from the owners' home, maintaining privacy, but with a connecting door in the kitchen. The main room of the B&B has a sofa where guests can sit and relax, and a table that seats all the guests, where the breakfast is served. Guests are welcome to make themselves a coffee or tea at any time during the day. One of the highlights of the B&B is the patio just above the guest rooms, where there is a table, chairs, umbrella and plants. Perfect for a sunny break during the day or for relaxing with a glass of wine and a book in the evening........ ... more   less
