Would never consider looking for another place to stay in Barcelona! Liz was lovely and incredibly accommodating. She provided excellent advice re: touring, eating, whatever the traveller's whim! Breakfast was delightful. The flat was extremely clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was welcome after hot days on the town. Very comfortable sleeping, and very quiuet! Loved the neighborhood. So authentic;... More

Upstairs was another green space to sit, relax and enjoy the view. Rooms were inviting with very comfy beds and very nice decor. The air conditioner was great,... More

Beautifully decorated and clean b & b in a central location in Barcelona. 10 minute walk to Barcelona Sants train station. The owner Liz is very helpful in helping us find restaurants and things to do that are local and not too crowded and touristy! The patio at the b & b is very quiet and serene as well as... More

A real find. Our air-conditioned room was delightful - funky brickwork with a huge, comfortable bed and plenty of room to hang clothes. The bathroom, although shared with the other room (never a problem), was spotless and was well stocked. The breakfast room was very pleasant and Elizabeth went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we... More

Located in a peaceful street away from the touristic crowdedness, but still central in Barcelona and easy to reach, with lots of restaurants and small supermarkets in the area. There is a metro station very close to the B&B. The hosts Tony and Liz immediately make you feel welcome. They are always there to help you out with information about... More

It was our second stay at The Patio, and I hope not the last. She is originally from the North-East (England) but has lived many years in Barcelona with her Spanish husband so knows it very... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Patio is a cosy two room B&B tucked away in the inner courtyard of a larger building in the Ensanche neighbourhood. The B&B is totally separate from the owners' home, maintaining privacy, but with a connecting door in the kitchen. The main room of the B&B has a sofa where guests can sit and relax, and a table that seats all the guests, where the breakfast is served. Guests are welcome to make themselves a coffee or tea at any time during the day. One of the highlights of the B&B is the patio just above the guest rooms, where there is a table, chairs, umbrella and plants. Perfect for a sunny break during the day or for relaxing with a glass of wine and a book in the evening........ ... more   less
