Big issue for us - 2 of 3 nights we couldn´t sleep till 2 or 3 a.m. because of the noise of washing machine above us and the second night because of some girls from the dormitory next-door. Nobody at the reception desk was able to solve this. :( Positive site was great breakfast and one very nice girl at...

I only stayed two nights but the hostel seemed great. The beds were very private, having blinds that shut you in your bed and didn't let in / out the light. The toilets and showers were clean and the cooking facilities worked well. They also give free breakfast, which actually, compared to other places that that has been offered, this...

I was feeling nostalgic and booked a hostel to remind me of my younger years. Clearly I forgot what it was like to sleep in a bunk-bed and shower under a timer showerhead. To be fair the hostel was clean and staff were friendly but I have outgrown that phase of my life. The location was a bit far from...

Dear Nakara, thank you for your review. As regards the location, Free Hostels is located in the Eixample district where you can find: Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou and the two Gaudi's houses. From la Rambla to come back to the hostel you have many options: you can take the green line or easier, a bus! Regards, Free Hostels Staff

This was my first time staying in a hostel, I have to say I was extremely pleased I chose this one. Having arrived at the airport I got a train into saints station which cost just over 4 euros then it's just a 10 minute walk up to the hostel. I received a warm friendly welcome from the team and...

Stayed in a six-bed female dorm. Beds have good matresses and the little privacy curtain for each bed is great. Food and recreation area is small but very airy and inviting. Air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a godsend after a sweaty day outside in the August heat. Free breakfast was good. The dorms have their own bathroom in the...

I stayed there for 3 nights. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I did not have any plans to explore the city and they gave me many good advices. I got up in mid night (maybe 4am) for toilet, and found the staff was doing cleaning, which prove them do have 24 hours reception service there ( I had...

Comfy but not for long term. Affordable. They offer food in the morning and that is a plus when rushing or getting there with limited time. Not for families and can't help but notice the noise from other rooms. It's expected for the price. You get what you pay for. We all shared one room. Can't imagine sharing with strangers...

I stayed here with a friend for three nights and it was a welcome break from some of the other hostels we've stayed in while traveling through Europe. The decor is clean, modern and fun. The place is very well looked after. The staff were very helpfully and even booked a walking tour and airport transfers for us. I would...

Stayed here in late August 2016 with two other mates while we explored Barcelona. We arrived in Barcelona late and after getting the train to Barcelona Sants from the airport we walked across town to the hostel. A very friendly man named Artur greeted us at the reception desk and showed us around and to our rooms, providing us with...

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
