I stayed at Hostal Felipe II for 5 nights with 2 friends and it was a good base for us. The location is fantastic, close to the center, the Sagrada Familia and metro stations with links within Barcelona and further. Great affordable bars and restaurants with good Spanish classics are also near by. The hostal itself is very clean! I... More

Property is not too far from the center, close to the Sagrada Familia, it's an old apsrtment building, the elevator is very old and is a bit frightening but once you get to the apartment everything is much newer inside, the walls had been fresh painted and the staff was very friendly and helpful, they give you a key for... Everything was great-location, staff... Only 5 minutes walking from Sagrada Famillia and 10 minutes from the most glamorous street in Barcelona -Passeig de Grasia. One block from the hostel there is Carrfour Express. The place was clean, they cleaned our room on a daily bases and changed towels. I would recommend the place to anyone who wants to experience real... More

I stayed in this hostel recently for 3 nights. It's about 800 mt from the Sagrada Familia. The prize is very cheap and rooms are very clean (towels are changed every day). The only disvantage is that not all the rooms have toilet so you have to share toilet with other people.

This was a great way to stay in Barcelona. A good hostel and a great location in the centre. If we come back to Barcelona we will stay with you again. We had a double room with balcony this was clean and tidy. The elevator was as great experience. The one out the James Bond movies

Forget the fresh looking photos on booking portals. The place is a sad sorry place. I had a room that was 1.5m by 2.5m but that makes it that I had a big TV given the size of the wall. True it is clean but the rooms and infrastructure is nowhere near the photos that are used.

They dont have a receptionist which means that they dont open if they are not there. the neighbors are feed up with the turists and quite upset as every guest rings on our doorbells. also the rooms are very noisy from the trafic of the streets. you are better of choosing an other hotel if you dont want to fight... The staff are friendly, very helpful, warm and welcoming. There are also English speaking staff which is helpful Good location, slightly loud at night with the main road. Nice place to stay and I'd recommend it to others.

Close to metra, very clean, freshly painted and decorated. One of the only hotels I have stayed in where I felt comfortable sitting on the floor. Staff was extremely helpful. Alex and other three staff members I met spoke English well and went out of their way to help me.

Stayed 4 nights here. Hostel is clean and close to metro. The staff are friendly. No kitchen to make any meals but there is a fridge to chill the beers and chicken legs. There is free Wifi and a couple of computers, but printing will sting you a good 50cents per page.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
