Bonic exceeded our expectations! Lucia was incredibly welcoming on our arrival and nothing was too much her. We had two bike boxes after cycling in the Pyrenees which they very kindly allowed us to keep in one of the unused rooms. Bonic is wonderfully decorated with a Moroccan twist. The breakfast is bountiful and delicious. The whole experience is one... More

I stayed here last year and loved it so much I stayed here again this year, at the end of September. Both Fernando and Lucia welcomed me back like a long lost family member! It made a few wonderful days, in one of my favourite cities in the world, even more perfect. I love everything about this B&B. The location,... More

Bonic is a superb guest house. It is a lovely property in a very central location. Fernando and his assistant Lucie were outstandingly friendly and helpful in every way. Tea, coffee and wine is offered on each return to the guest house without further cost. While the rooms do not have en suites, the bathrooms are very close by and... More

Where to start, Fernando runs this this beautiful little guest house and nothing is too much trouble for him. Whether it's directions to attractions, advice on what to see, organising a taxi, it's all done with a smile. He is passionate about Barcelona and more then willing to share his knowledge. The character guest house is immaculate, comfy beds, lovely... More

While Hotel Bonic has many fantastic qualities, I think its greatest strength is its staff. We were welcomed so warmly by Fernando; he also gave us very valuable tips about things to do around town. Every time we saw him or Lucia, they offered us food or drink--and brought it to us, in the sun room or in our own... More

We stayed at Bonic for four days and enjoyed every minute of it. The atmosphere and service was incredible and it felt like home. If you are looking for a intimate, quiet and cozy place with the perfect location, then I would with out of doubt recommend Bonic. Thank Fernando for a lovely stay!

After staying in hotels for a couple of weeks it was such a pleasure to be met at the entrance by Fernando at 10pm. He also got up at 6am to give us breakfast and see us off. Bonic is a charming place to stay. The room was comfortable, the location excellent and I can't speak highly enough of the... More

It was with trepidation that I booked this accommodation as sharing bathrooms it not something we do however we were traveling around Europe for two months so on a tighter budget than normal. We needn't have worried! Everything that is written about this hidden gem is true! Fernando was simply the most perfect host as was Lucia. Information offered and... More

It may seem like hyperbole to say Bonic is the best guest house when we have not stayed at any other but I can't imagine a better one. Fernando and Lucia are charming and friendly. The guest house is small and personal but affords ample opportunity to keep to yourself or to chat with their interesting clientele. The experience harks... More

Bonic is a hidden gem right in the heart of Gothic, Barcelona. Everything is on the door step and yet it is quiet, tucked away and peaceful. Fernando is an excellent host. He ensures that all the guests respect each others space, whilst providing a friendly and welcoming environment. Everything was taken care of. Clean, efficient and full of Catalan... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
