A hotel that combines the traditional with the futuristic in a privileged environment: a building that is more than 100 years old with spectacular ceilings over seven metres high and spaces designed to surprise and enjoy. Its rooms, with an original glass shower in the room, are chameleon-like: you can change the colour depending on your mood. The passageways, full of enchantment and mystery, mutate with colour changes from the lights in the rooms. Enjoy our “Beyourself” and “Helpyourself” area in the common area where you can relax listening to music, reading any of our books or having a coffe, tea or water for free. Also, if you want to move about the city at your own pace, bicycles are available to rent. Once you try them, you won’t want to use any other transport in Barcelona. You can also enjoy our chic&basic tour, a two hour walk through Ciutat Vella in which we will mix history with some curiosities, as well as gastronomic and nightlife suggestions. Enjoy it on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays at 10:00am.

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

I found this hotel in the book Barcelona: Architecture and Design, of which it's the first chapter. The adaptation (intrusion?) into this grand Renaissance Revival building is dramatic and very intriguing. Some rooms are small and awkward. The slightly larger rooms are just the right...More
Great location for exploring. Staff were fantastic; gave the best tips on making our stay even more special - restaurant bookings, travel, sightseeing tips. Room was quirky & bed really comfortable. Room not cosy and you'll need to be very close to your room mate...More
Great central location on paper. The white rooms and beading in the rooms may sounds great but combined with the unique lighting feature (ours did not work properly) it all has a cheap, adult movie type feeling, if you looking for that sort of atmosphere....More
The hotel has all the essential things in place to make for a good stay. The location is perfect and central. The staff at the front desk extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated in a beautiful old building and the interior is quirky...More

It is a very nice area, only 15 mins walk to the beach and few minutes walk to Picasso Museum, approx 20 mins to Gaudie's house, 35 mins walk to Sagrada Familia. We only stayed in this area so I can't compare it with other areas of Barcelona if they are more or less busy from other parts of the city. It is not dead quiet or overcrowded I would say. We really enjoyed the Bar Del Pla serving very tasty food and Hofmam bakery and their award winning croissants! We would go back there. Ask the staff at the hotel they are very helpful.
