I booked a single room and was quite satisfied. Nice view of pretty street. A little dated, but made up for this with very accommodating and helpful English-speaking staff and excellent location. Close to Metro stations and many restaurants.

The hostel itself provides all the basic necessities. The best advantage being it's location, perfect for those interested in the historical part of the city, yet also being only a few minutes away from the subway and buses. The towels are rentable. The staff was super friendly and helpful, if you ever need any tips on places to visit, just... More

Stayed at the hostal end of Oct for the barca game with my 14 year old daughter. Its hard when in a city to find the perfect location as things are so far spread however this being my second visit this place is close to supermarket bars restaurants - and if needed burger king mcds and subway also 2 min... Nice hostel with a beautiful terase. Very friendly staff. Maybe it happened to be, but other guests were party seekers, so you might find someone to chat and go out together. District around at the beginning might seam dangerous, but it is really safe. Try out bars and restaurants around - really good.

The staff was wonderful and welcoming and the facilities were nice, just wasn't too happy about the cockroach I found on top of my stuff (but I guess that's part of the city!). Also the signage isn't very good, so be on the lookout for a small sign. Spent 15 minutes looking for the hostel. All around though decent place... More

Good location, 20-minutes walk to the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. 24h reception. Free wifi. Free luggage storage. Overall, quite reasonably priced (14,00EUR per night in a 6-bed dormitory room). On the flip side, not enough sockets in the room, bathrooms were not very clean, no tea or coffee facilities, no breakfast.

Good location at a good price. Our room was above a small mart/supermarket and it was noisy at night with earplugs required. Shared bathroom and kitchen. It served its purpose as a place to sleep after busy days of sight seeing and dinner/drinks in Barcelona.

The hostel was fine, it's pretty standard for it's price range. It's in an old building, but I didn't have any issues with noise like some other people have complained about. The rooms were comfortable and each bed has its own socket for charging phones, etc. There is a kitchen and an area you can sit outside on the roof,... More

It has been my dream to go to Barcelona for years now and I finally got the chance. Thank God for the game and the sights because the hostel was crap. My friend had a homeless man come try to mug him at the atm across the street. Don't worry my friend won the fight. The staff were friendly and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
