El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

A friend and I spent three nights here in August. The hotel is quite hard to find as the entry is a single door down a lane way. The hotel isn't located in the best area but once inside you feel safe and comfortable. Our room was quite small but decorated well. Beds and

We came to Barcelona pre and post cruise. We had booked an Air B&B for the few days before our cruise but it wasnt available for our return stay. Wow, am I glad!!! The online pictures are accurate but don’t do it justice. First, the location of this boutique hotel is superb.

Our expectations were high, but we were immediately discouraged by a) our driver's inability to navigate the narrow streets and to park in order to drop us off; b) our difficulty gaining access to the lobby off the street (door hard to spot); c) the receptionist's lack of

Central, helpful and humble staff and luxurious room (at least for our standards). But as lots of buildings in big cities, they are really close to one and other. So just remember to pull the curtains in front of the window before you step into the shower. That way you won't

This is a cozy and lovely hotel in the center of Barcelona. It is about 5 mins walk from La Rambla, and just off the main road. You can easy catch a taxi or walk to the metro-station. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around. I originally booked the double room, but upon

The Bed prepared for the night
Dear Mrs. Diane, We are located in The Born area, it is part of the Old City of Barcelona. It's here that you'll find a large number of monuments and ancient sites to visit. However, don't be fooled by its medieval streets, because Born has been filled with new shops, bars and restaurants that make it one of the most modern neighborhoods of Barcelona. It is a picturesque and cultural part of the city with a vibrant café culture, bar scene and amazing night life. You can feel safe between us. Regards, Mercer House Team

Aeropuerto de Barcelona - El Prat. You could take the Aerobus from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and get off at Plaça Catalunya. The trip is not so long. Less than an hour.

As far as I was aware, the hotel did not have shuttle service. Of course, taxi service is available to the airport. It cost us approximately $20 US dollars. Hope I was of some help to your question.

There is not a bath and it does have a small kitchen. But the stove has been disconnected so you can not use it. We asked why thinking we could save some money as a family of five by cooking in house. We were told that it's a hotel room now. Something to do with the law. Before it was an apartment. Also the fridge does not get very cold quickly. Hope this helps.
