Neighborhood
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

We stayed in early November. This boutique hotel is located right in the heart of the old town 1 block from the Cathedral. Tons of shopping and eating within 5-10 minute walk. Sites like Sagrada Familia, Casa Batillo and Park Gruel are within 20-30 minute walk. Rooms were

Great location, just outside the Gotic and an easy walking distance to the beach. The room was large and well equipped. Of the 2 bedrooms, there was no air conditioning in 1. It did not bother us since we were only 2 people. The hotel team was friendly and helpful.

This hotel is a disaster. We had booked a suite and a regular room with them. Our suite had a terrible sewage smell. The bathroom sink was also clogged (see photo). We had arrived pretty late and so had to stay in the room for that night but both my wife and I could not sleep

Dear Mrs. Diane, We are located in The Born area, it is part of the Old City of Barcelona. It's here that you'll find a large number of monuments and ancient sites to visit. However, don't be fooled by its medieval streets, because Born has been filled with new shops, bars and restaurants that make it one of the most modern neighborhoods of Barcelona. It is a picturesque and cultural part of the city with a vibrant café culture, bar scene and amazing night life. You can feel safe between us. Regards, Mercer House Team

Aeropuerto de Barcelona - El Prat. You could take the Aerobus from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and get off at Plaça Catalunya. The trip is not so long. Less than an hour.

As far as I was aware, the hotel did not have shuttle service. Of course, taxi service is available to the airport. It cost us approximately $20 US dollars. Hope I was of some help to your question.

There is not a bath and it does have a small kitchen. But the stove has been disconnected so you can not use it. We asked why thinking we could save some money as a family of five by cooking in house. We were told that it's a hotel room now. Something to do with the law. Before it was an apartment. Also the fridge does not get very cold quickly. Hope this helps.

"Double Jr. Suite 101 is large, but street and abutting neighbours (small children) are very noisy."

"The rooms are a bit noisy."
"Suites offer a good layout for kids to be in separate sleeping area"
