Good value for money, there is the possibility of having a room with bidet essential thing x Italians 🤣, I do not know if it is in all rooms but I specifically chose a room with bidet. Good cleaning, daily change of towels, warm, comfortable environment: with the radiators deliberately turned off, we slept with short-sleeved pajamas. X the coldest☺️ you sleep hot hot with the thermo on!! Great breakfast both sweet and savory, served from 7 to 11. Assuming that we like to walk especially when visiting new places, from 'hotel you can walk to important points of the city but, x those who prefer to move by transport, the area is well served. Near the hotel there are also several refreshment points , a discount store with great prices , a hospital and a train station (about 1.30 km) from which we got off to reach the hotel on foot , walking slowly x about 12 -15 minutes.
If we return to Barcelona, we will definitely stay here!

The hotel is in a good location! The room we had was small but that’s not a bad thing when we didn’t spend too much time in the room itself. Clean sheets, towels provided. Small TV in the room, this only had 2 English channels & it consisted of American News channels, which again didn’t matter too much but was a shame of a late evening when you were ready to settle after a long day of walking! I was disappointed that when I came to have a bath there wasn’t a plug, I called down to reception & they advised they’d run out and didn’t have one available for me! The pool area, although we didn’t swim, was nicely kept! Overall a good stay here, could have had some minor tweaks but it was average enough for a 2 night stay!

I Booked this for three nights stay. It is very close to a Metro station and easy to find. Check in was instant and I arrived well before noon. The room is small but perfectly clean and has a room safe, good aircon and a spotless bathroom. I am traveling alone but the room would have been OK had I been with my partner. The location is excellent, in a great neighbourhood and only 45 minutes walk to the Ramblas, or 10 mins by Metro. A great base to sleep and explore the city from, this is not a “luxury” hotel so if you want to spend your days lounging in your room this is not the place. However if you want a clean and comfy base from which to explore Barcelona this is for you. There is a small pool and jacuzzi on the roof terrace and a restaurant right next door.

Absolutely disgusting.
Bathrooms full of mould, filth and nothing like what you see on the pictures.
They clearly don’t have a clue when it comes to hygiene by allowing the shower head to clog up with that much limescale the water struggles to come out.

Hotel is falling apart round the communal areas with wallpaper falling off the walls and fire hoses falling out the walls.

Director takes no responsibility for his hotel after emailing me explaining how our comfort and satisfaction is his utmost priority however won’t do a thing for you except out a cheap €5.00 bottle of wine in your room.

Moved us rooms and all you could smell was pure sewage that made us sick most days in a hot room.

Internet is rubbish, staff can’t make a decision and all in all I would strongly recommend you find a different hotel.

Even the most basic hotels have a standardised cleaning routine that this place clearly missed.

Dear Mr. Stewart, Once again, we appreciate your stay at our hotel. As informed during your stay, cleanliness is one of the fundamental aspects in our standards, as we consider it essential for our guests' comfort. This is reflected in the positive comments we receive both onsite and online. We regret that your room was not in optimal condition upon arrival, and we promptly communicated this to you, offering a room upgrade to a higher category. We also regret that the complimentary wine offered did not meet your price expectations; it was intended as a gesture of goodwill. Regarding your comment about the fire hoses, please be informed that they are newly installed and currently under construction to comply with the latest fire safety regulations, which is a top priority for us. Our technical team has reviewed the wifi network, and it is functioning correctly. We have not received any complaints during your stay, and we have two fiber lines to ensure wifi coverage for our guests. Demanding a refund in exchange for not posting negative reviews online is unprofessional, especially coming from someone representing themselves as a hotel manager. Leaving without settling the outstanding bill is also not an elegant approach, as you have done. Once again, we thank you for your stay. Best regards, Albert Lopez Hotel Manager

We stayed for a week for our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Europe. The price of this hotel was what we needed as it is pretty pricey around Barcelona and really, we only need to sleep in our room…however…the room they gave us, appeared to be where all the broken and mismatched furniture goes to die.

The cost was about $150 Canadian a night, so not expecting luxury…. bit I do expect clean and functioning. Soooo, the super not great points…the toilet was not attached to the floor. There was content on the shower walls left by the previous guest that was not cleaned during the entire duration of our stay, ewww.

On our second day, upon returning to the room, we had no power. There were no lights, no air conditioning and the power slot for our room card was broken. When I went down to the lobby, the kid at the desk had no idea what was wrong, the power came back on about 40 minutes later with no explanation as to what was wrong. Everyday after this the power took about 20 minutes to kick in after arriving in our room.

The wardrobe doors wouldn’t open unless you picked them up and moved them to the side. The tub did not drain. The chair for the desk was missing a leg and an arm.

The housekeeping wasn’t great…a half effort at best.

We visited the pool, the lady in charge of the towels came up and told us she was closing it 1/2 an hour early, and that we had to leave. Also , the towels were all dirty and piled on the bench, with no new ones available. Both nights we visited it.

The buffet breakfast was lovely, and the staff themselves were very nice. However to even offer this room was a disappointment. There is no reason that a guest should be shoved into the small inadequate hovel of a room that we were placed in …and seeing other guests that paid the same, but had far superior experiences, I am sadly disappointed with my overall experience.

Very good location in regards to the metro.

Straight from the start, the staff was very welcoming and gave us plenty of information and assistance about room service, the room its self and different activities available for us to take part in. The rooms are kept very clean and constantly supplied with necessary necessaties. The buffet available provides a great start to the day with amazing and tasteful food. The hotel is located near all main attractions and its very quite during the night. Highly reccomend.

Went here with my boyfriend for a weekend. Our last day, we went to get tattoed for the whole day. When we came back, a bottle of orange juice was spilled everywhere! Also over my new jordans! We knew the housemaid had been there because the beds were made up. But it was spilt orange juice everywhere and was pretty disgusting.

We went down to the reception, but there was only one guy there. He told us to send them an e-mail, since he was the only one working. And so I did. The problem is that we had to leave only a few hours later, and never got the chance to tell any othe person who worked there. This is the dirtiest hotel I've ever visited! They ruin your shoes, room, and when you send them an e-mail, they don't reply.

Please don't go here! It's awful, and I really felt like they didn't respect us at all. Also, I'm typing this review months later! That's because I was waiting for a reply, but never got one. Eventually I forgot it to for a while, but here it is. And btw they never answered my e-mail, even though I had pictures and proof. Will never go back here!

I visited Sunotel Anson a few years ago and had a good experience, so thought it'd be good to use them again. That was a mistake.

The room incredibly dirty, it clearly hasn't been cleaned properly in years, dirt on the walls window frames and hair everywhere.
As soon as we arrived I went to have a shower and was hit in the head by the shower head and the shower head holder is apparently broken so it just falls down. I went to report it, and they wouldn't look into it until the following day and told me it'd be fixed in the morning. They never came to fix it the entire stay.

The Bathroom is very small, far smaller than I recall our previous room being in our last stay, it's very difficult to move around in it. The toilet is positioned in a small nook which means that you have to sit at a 45 degree angle as there's no space for your legs if sitting properly. It's also hard getting out of the shower, there's little space to maneuver there's no shower curtain or door, but an affixed glass pane, and I ended up slicing my foot on the glass door trying to climb out. I have a photo of the nasty gash in my foot, but I believe it's against tripadvisor's rules to upload it. I hope it doesn't leave a scar.

The water pressure is very low, there's no electric/power shower so it comes out as a trickle, and sometimes just comes out cold, with one morning no warm water at all during our showers.

Some of the power sockets on the wall in the room just don't work. I didn't realise until the following morning when our equipment hadn't charged.

The wardrobe door was broken and didn't close properly, and the vent was broken.

One of the lift reports wrong floors, it took us going up and down a couple of times to figure out the lift reports a different level than you are actually at. One evening none of the lifts worked at all and we had to walk to top floor with our luggage.

Finally, the Lobby stunk of sewage, we tried not to spend much time in there, strangely outdoors there was no such smell, so it was likely hotel plumbing.

It's a pity, as the hotel was in far better condition the last time we stayed, and the location of the hotel is fantastic.

The location of the hotel is convenient, but I regret to have to note the little affability of the staff who often did not reciprocate the greeting that we always addressed entering and leaving. The bathroom needs a good renovation because the shower, in addition to being uncomfortable because it is placed on the bathtub, is filled with water because of the difficult outflow ; The bidet leaks water from the back drain pipe and also although there is no window, there is no ventilation system! I reported the problem of the air cleaner in the bathroom at the reception where every day they took notes and only after 4 days I was told that there is actually no vacuum system in the bathroom. I really felt fooled and the apology that came when I asked why they had not told me immediately, seemed insufficient to justify such behavior. Finally we were provided with shower towels visibly worn and pierced. Overall the structure and services do not seem adequate to the category of the hotel.

The worst experience ever, we booked originally through booking.com as a package( flight and hotel) with Sunotel Aston, we paid for 7 nights but 6 nights stay since we were on the way for the 1st night, when we arrived to the hotel, they said that they were waiting for us the night before and since nobody notify them, they canceled our reservation with no call, email or follow up with us or priceline package(through booking.com), they said we will do a favour to you for not letting you stay at the street tonight! And how ever you had already paid for your hotel, we will charge you for another hotel” Sunotel Junior” and you should come back tomorrow and talk to the manager;
We paid double price for the cheaper quality Sunotel Junior hotel with the dirty small room, we could not even open the door of washroom because of awfull smell and not ventilated. No safety box,
When client book a package, the 3rd party( agancy or,…) need to be in contact with other providers or the hotel should have some follow up when working in partnership with other agents/websits,….the next day, they reimbursed us the our 1st night with no price difference because of lower quality, so we went back to Sunotel Aston but all of those were such a headache after 19 hrs flight from Vancouver-Canada and above all of that they were not understanding and their treatment was so rude…..

The main voltage in Barcelona is 230 volts AC. There are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. If your device doesn't support dual voltages, you'll need a converter. Best Regards, Albert Lopez Hotel Manager
